Bill Parcells get a pass if...

He sounded a little bit beaten down in his PC today, he seems tired. I say he goes 1 more year, and I say he sells the farm to get a SB.

I don't think he can handle to harsh reality and the beat down from the media and backlash of bad games anymore, but I think he knows that their are some talented guys in this draft at the positions he's after, and I say he goes one more round.

we actually get into playoffs and do well... win a game or two... or atleast show up in first playoff game and not just a "washed out one and done"

or does he get a pass anyways?

Poor playcalling, execution, conservatism... he has to be held accountable for all... but can get a reprieve if we get in... erases all of regular season for most part...

agneda????

As I have constantly stated...much to the shigrin of many on this board....if you are looking at this season only:

Throw out:
how improved we are
how the youngins played
etc etc

And just look at the season as a whole, I really cant see how 10-6 and not getting into the playoffs is viewed as acceptable and a successful season.

We have been there and done that with regards to missing the playoffs....I want to see the old dog do a new trick and make it to the playoffs.

Parcells said the first words he told the team in his first meeting in 2003 was, "Get your expectations up"!!!

Will Big Bill, my expectations are up....

If we dont make it to the playoffs I cant let Big Bill off the...

1 game over 500. would refer to his three year tenure!!

Yet when Bill took over this team was coming off their 4th year of 5-11 and 8-8 the year before that. Damn you Bill!!!! Parcells has done a lot of good for this team

Wow. Some people are just plain stupid. Guess what -- lots of teams miss the playoffs.

BP has turned this team around. If Campo stuck around we would have been 1-15 in '03, 3-13 in '04, and talking about draft scenarios right now.

We've lost 1 game by more than 7 points all year. Are there positions that need improvement? Sure -- can you say that about any team? yes.

Beatdown from the media? These guys are poodles compared to what he dealt with in NY and Boston.

And what's the "harsh reality" of possibly going 10-6 and at least coming within a hair of making the playoffs?

This was a good season in a lot of ways, even for Bill. Last year I could see this argument and wondered if he would come back, but this year was night and day to last year.

Are there any other measures of a team's progress that you would like to throw out?

Does that mean that we are not allowed to question THe GREAT AND ALL KNOWING BILL PARCELLS?!! for god sakes BP has been wrong from time to time, however fans like you resist any thing but worship for him. I for one will continue to speak about what he does wrong and occasionally give him his props when he does well!

Question the guy all you want. But do it intelligently.

Not seeing too much of that in this thread from the anti-BP folks.

I did not tell you or anyone else that you can't say what you feel. I don't have to agree with it and if I feel giving my point of view I will damn well do it wether you like it or not. As for worship I don't worship any person but I do know a good coach when I see one and I know how far this team has come under Parcells. You don't like that view well too damn bad!

I agree, but you have to admit he seems a little bit tired of the whole thing. However, if he gets the win against the Rams, and somehow makes it to the playoffs, that will completely energize him.

I really don't see him going past next season.

I see where this is going! Abersonc just send along the BP worship starter shrine and i will see what i can do about building my own! Saying anything other than good things about BP shall be deemed Unintelligent.

P.S.( BP's conservative playcalling has cost us several wins, i.e; skins and hawks) "You are what your record says you are!"

OH!! please forgive me 3 games over 500.=PRICELESS

Compare that to the previous 3 years. 5-11, 5-11, 5-11. That's 15-33 -- a full 18 games under 500.

Bill inherited a crap situation. An awful team with only a handful of good players. Years and years of awful drafts.

Those of you who expected a SB are probably the same people who expected Henson to tear it up after 3 years away from the game -- or for Ware to get 15 sacks in his rookie year. Just not realistic.

Stop being such spoiled babies - waaaah, we aren't going to the super bowl every year. waaaaaaaah. the coach sucks. waaaaaaah.

Good teams are built over several years -- look at the Pats, we use the same philosophy -- it takes a few years. BP is building a team that will be good for a while -- not going for the one season wonder type team that you see in Washington.

Bill has built a solid foundation for this team with an emphasis on replacing players who weren't starting material with talented players who can contribute - especially this year.

I would consider this year a success to the extent this team has already won 9 games playing one of the toughest schedules. Bill has this team believing they can compete and win every game. This team hasn't had that mindset for quite some time now.

Imagine if we hadn't lost Flo & Dat for the season and JJ & Henry for short period of time..."oh...the horror!

You call it BP worshiper -- I call it intelligent analysis.

And it was BP's aggressive play call at the end of the Hawks game that cost us. If BP has Drew take a knee and goes for OT, there is no INT. That would have been a conservative call.

Frankly wrongly attributing losses to conservative play calling does little to suggest that your analysis is anything but unintelligent.

Regardless if we make the playoffs or not Bill has help to bring some solid talent on this team and we are a lot futher along than we were before he got here. You can give him a pass or not that is your deal for me this is not about just this season but the direction this team is heading in.

Agreed.

You guys all need to realize, with Campo here, going 5-11 3 years in a row, all that, we were no longer a middle of the pack team a few players away from the playoffs, we were Bengals status. Just plain bad. Look at it this way, BP has taken 3 years to assemble this team, and he's still not done. THere's not alot of pre-BIll players on this team anymore, and most of those guys arent in the league anymore either.

NEWSFLASH! BP is not interested in a long term situation! so please stop trying to get those who are displeased with some of the things BP has done here to worship him like you!

Question! Seeing the cowboys reign as Americas Team again is what we all strive for correct? Playing with the same swagger as the 90's would be nice! You can not get there with BP's conservative style of coaching, we are not the giants of the 80's BP is trying to make us!

Glad to know there are so many Cowboy fans out there who toss and turn at night worried about nothing else than whether Bill Parcells is "getting a pass" from us as fans. Stay alert, you watchdogs. You protect us all.
