Ok so let's look at this logically. Some points:
- The person Bill allegedly spoke to would have to be someone high up on the food chain. However, it wouldn't be Acorsi due to the way the words were allegedly phrased.
- The person Bill allegedly spoke to would have either a) had his car bugged or b) told someone what Bill said.
- Why would both parties to go the extent of vehemently denying it happened only to have the non-Bill party spill the beans to a book writer later on in the year, as if Bill wouldn't know who it was that told.
- What would stop Bill from fessing up and saying "yea, I said that" and dragging the Giants through a little tampering charge. If they ratted him out to some miscellaneous author, what loyalty does he feel to this current Giants administration, especially since the passing of Wellington Mara?
The whole thing makes no sense, and I have a hard time believing there's a lick of truth to it beyond the possibility that Bill was talking to someone in a car before the game.
