I don't have a dog in this hunt either, but it feels pretty dumb. The team had two defensive meltdowns in a row and they whack... the quarterback? He was bad against the Saints, but nothing ridiculous, and he scored 3 total touchdowns and had a 108 passer rating in the Jets loss. They're still solidly in the wild card hunt too, it's not like the season is in the dumpster already.

Most rookies don't look good when you rush them in; what Dak did is very much the exception. Maybe this guy turns out to be a superhero, but it's unlikely the guy rises up to Tyrod's level of being average to slightly better.

Taylor's 2017 cap number will drop from $15.9 million to $9.7 million under the terms of the restructure. If the Bills choose to keep him for the 2018 season, his cap number will be $18.1 million; it would have been $16.8 million under his previous deal.

Probably playing Peterman to see if they can get out of that cap hit for 2018.

Over the Cap shows the Bills saving 15m if they designate him as a Post June 1st cut.
They have a 14mil dead cap hit in 2018 from Dareus fwiw
