Bill's Eyes: Who played Bad? Oh, and the refs

If you watch any of the game film, you'll notice that Floz Adams' game starts to drop off late in the 2nd Qtr.

The guy had a terrible game.

Check out the last 45 seconds of the game. He pretty much mailed it in on that play.



I'll be posting some video of the guy later today. All I can say is, you need to watch the game film.

Something that I found impressive was that we had 9 pass defenses. Anthony Henry (2), Terrance Newman (2), Roy Williams (2), Ferguson (1), Kevin Burnett (1), and Kenyon Coleman (1).

Thats a very nice stat. Although the Jags had eight, but I contribute most of that to the poor throws of Bledsoe.

While I agree that the pro-bowler should get the benefit of a doubt, he has to learn to get away with it. Michael Irvin should be on speed dial. Go teach him Mike!

Towards the end on Michael's career even he wasnt getting away with it anymore.... the rule was made for him.... as many were made for Cowboys... helmet... horsecollar... etc...

The thing people are overlooking is that Witten's push off and the typical Michael Irvin push off are very different animals.

Witten's was downfield with no contact at all before the push off - an easy call for the officials.

Irvin's push offs were mostly within 5-10 yards while being bumped by the CB - he took advantage of the contact that was taking place anyway to make it appear as if what he was doing was merely incidental to that. Even when Irvin pushed off downfield it generally was when there was contact going on anyway and Irvin used that as a disguise.

you remember something that media goof balls want you to see then, because I saw virtually every game of his career and the "Irvin pushes off" thing was WAY overblown

he never did anything like what I saw Jerry Rice do for Seattle in the endzone against us in 2004, and that wasnt called either

I am sure someone else saw a "blatant" pushoff from MI. He had done it more than once...

Its ok... you live in your world... and I will live in the real one....

I thought it was also interesting that Bill was ok with the two calls many of you guys thought were 'total BS' - Henry no call and Witten PI. I actually think we got the upper hand on calls in the game.

My PC connection faded out a couple times (but just for a few seconds) ... but I never heard him address the "two calls" you speak of. And I also disagree that we got any upper hand.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't BP say that Watkins got hit in his elbow. Did something else happen because I saw him in the 3rd Q going into the 4th.

Nothing happened that I'm aware of. Bill said Pat had only one mental error. He didn't get benched. Bill has been on record that he doesn't expect anyone to go through a game with no mistakes. He was speaking of Gurode at the time.

I don't mean to suggest Michael NEVER pushed off blatently - and I will certainly admit there were a few times my jaw dropped when there wasn't a call. But still, for the most part, even with the blatant push offs, with Micheal it was when he and the DB were close, often bumping (sounds sexual doesn't it) and the push off was lost in the other contact going on - that was really Michael's secret.
