Bills GM Admits 1st-Round Trade Was Direct Move To Block Cowboys From Getting TE

I tend to agree that the Bills did take Kincaid away from Dallas. I don't mind the Mazi pick, but Jerry intended to get Kincaid. The desperate selection of Schoonmaker in the 2nd confirms to me they wanted or felt they needed a TE. Of course Jerry is not gonna admit they got screwed again. Not a good look.
I initially believed they weren't drafting a TE in the first. But the 2nd round pick now has me wondering. However, we'd have to believe the Cowboys had no interest in Mayer at all. But either way, the Cowboys just sit there. Every team in the league knows they can trade up one spot in front of us if they want the player they think the Cowboys are going to pick. Do you think if the Cowboys had the 10th pick they would have gotten Jalen Carter? Of course not. Someone would have jumped in front. After the 8th pick, the Eagles jumped to 9. At that point everyone knew who they were picking.

yeah, the whole NFL teams try to pick guys we were looking at just to keep us from being the dominant team in the NFL. they didn't worry about their needs, they just tried to block us.

The words of someone famous come to mind... "Who gives a [bowel movement]?!?"

Grabbing Mazi doesnt seem like we got screwed, I said it in another thread, Bills did us a favor.

We lost Dallas Goedart the exact same way. Eagles jumped in front of our stationary , lazy FO who treats the drafts like a family reunion

Good the cowboys got the better player to help them take the next step.

Really? Two different style TEs, and it was apparent that they wanted a blocking TE which Kinkade isn't. And obviously because all the TEs were still available at 26, it is reasonable to assume they could wait because of the vast number of TEs available in this draft.
But either way, does it matter? Bills made sure they got who they wanted either way. It would of been a mistake to grab Kinkade at 26 so it would of been an even bigger mistake to trade up to lose a pick as well as grab a TE we really don't need as we have two very capable TEs in Ferg and Hendershot.

We literally picked a TE in round 2. You arguing they didn't want one of the top 3 TE's?

More likely, they gambled someone would fall to them. I think la Porta went higher than they expected.
I’m arguing against misinformation. They did not have Kinkaid rated as a first rounder. They had Laporta as their number one tight end. I know it’s cool to crap on Jerry but I think Mazi was legit the pick they wanted.
