Guys

Any tips for buying a new TV during Black Friday?

I need a 3D Internet TV. I need 55 inch or higher. Samsung or Sony. Not interested in any other brands.

What is the best strategy? I have never done this Black Friday craziness but I need a new TV and I would like to take advantage of Black Friday if I can

Check Amazon and Newegg first. If you can find a good deal you can just order it online.

As someone who has worked in bars and shops that are open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Hogmanay and New Years Day I can safely say that unless employment law is more heavily weighted in the employees favour over in the States (which I doubt) it is highly unlikely that employees will have any input into whether or not they are expected / contractually obliged to work on Thanksgiving.

Hogmanay! I learned something new today. Love that the term's derivation could be any or all of Norse, Goidelic, or French, no one seems to know.

Amazon has some really good deals on video games. Got Borderlands 2 and Dishonored for $25 each. I'm trying to get Assassin's Creed 3 at that price but it looks like I will have to pay $35.

Also, I am not too into the idea, but I may buy a laptop for myself next year for when I start college. I am hoping to find a good 15" for under $250.

Other than that not too much interests me. Maybe a gander mountain hoodie for $30

Best Buy and Newegg have good deals on laptops.

By far the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. This was my first & last Black Friday experience. Went to my local Walmart & I think the whole county was in the joint & witnessed people literally getting violent over home phones. On the bright side brought home a 60" inch Vizio Smart TV for $688.

Sounds like a damn good deal.

Noway I'm going to wait outside a store for hours to get some discount.

All I wanted is another phone to replace my bland new HTC EVO 4G LTE (drop it and cracked the screen) and saw this morning that Sprint had a special on Samsung Galaxy SIII for $49.99 online, so I ordered it and I'm all set.:)

Got AC3 and Borderlands 2 at BestBuy for $35 each. That's all though.

Most retailers give the employees time and a half on Black Friday despite it not being a holiday. Of course employees should be expected to work that day if scheduled, Thanksgiving itself is a different story.
most retailers won't pay their employees their Thanksgiving holiday pay is they call in on Black Friday, don't know many that pay time and a half for it.

Picked up a 55" Samsung LED TV for $799. Wanted one with WiFi, but nothing could touch that price. It has a 120hz refresh rate, but the volume doesn't go up very high. (nothing a sound system won't fix).

All in all, it's not absolutely perfect, but at $799 it was a hell of a deal. The kids are damn happy about it.

I picked it up on Saturday night though, not on Friday.

Avoid it all together. Avoided Black Friday, Small Business Saturday except to get some glasses tisk tisk, and Cyber Monday.

Not the shopping kind unless it comes to music and books.
