Black Monday Head Coach Thread: Jaguars fire HC Doug Pederson

‘Multiple sources emphasized last week that the #Cowboys would struggle to attract a top head coach if they kept Jerry Jones as GM. They faced similar challenges during their last coaching search.’
We don't allow rumors here.

I havent really followed New England closely this season, but im not sure how Mayo gets fired after 1 season with that roster completely bereft of NFL level talent.
I remember he threw out some controversial comments immediately after accepting the job. Maybe he wasn't well liked in addition to their awful results.

Not a easy place to coach at for other reasons, non Belichek related, attending a game there made that obvious to see. But the fact the team didnt have much talent at all was a set up for a first year coach, I thought they would have given him a second year. But Vrabel wanted the job too and I am sure that makes more sense to them in their minds.

  • Not competitive in pay
  • Insane levels of micromanagement
  • The HC literally has no say in who the hell his co-ordinators are and in some instances are forced to take on a co-ordinator they have no history with
  • The owner/gm is the mouth piece and the coach is left to try and make into reality whatever nonsense that moron spews in front of a mic
  • The players cannot be held accountable because they can at anytime go over the head of the HC.
Jeez, it's hard to see why people aren't flocking to be the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys. Face it, the HC in Dallas is just a figurehead, powerless and neutured in every way. Whoever holds that position is largely a glorified PT instructor.

Off till April
And people wonder why they can never get the talent needed. GM's for football franchises work year around as do the front offices to put their clubs in the best possible situation. Here our GM is barely part-time as he is also busy figuring out marketing and brand recognition.
