Blaming Romo for every loss is the biggest cliché in Dallas since guns, hats and boots.

Sure, Romo wasn't absolutely perfect today. With that said his stats are very respectable. 298 yards, 1 TD, 70%+ completion percentage and no INTs. Sure he had a fumble, and didn't play mistake free-football. But we can say that Dez's offensive pass interference was one of the worst calls of Week 2. That was a clean reception and completion. Should've been a 20 yard gain putting Romo with 320 yards. Then what about the drop by Dez? Easily a 40+ gain. You do your high school math there…

You can play the what-if game all week long, but it doesn't matter, it's nobody's clear fault, it's a team game.

Truth is, Romo wasn't perfect, but Romo didn't lose the game. Sure in that red zone he had Dez one on one, but the play calling is unpredictable, but in favor of the defense. There's absolutely no spark, no separation on the receivers, Witten isn't going downfield, EVER, Hannah can't break a tackle and Escobar has been dismal thus far. That without even mentioning the running game and Murray.

Truth is you can't put the blame on one man's shoulders. It is a team effort, and we were good enough to win today, but we didn't, Chiefs ultimately played smarter football and came out on top with the win. Tough loss no doubt, and as our schedule gets more difficult, we could have had this one, hopefully it doesn't cost us the playoffs.

Let's now analyze the rest of the league's QB's up until right now:

Jay Cutler, 290 yards, 3 TD's, but 2 INT's and a lost fumble. Ouch. His team however, won the game and Cutler gets a free pass from his fan base on this one. Individually a worse game than Romo.

Robert Griffin III, 320 yards, 3 TD's and 1 INT. Mostly the big numbers coming in garbage time and in reality wasn't much of a gamer today. His numbers good enough offensively but the defense lost.

Matt Schaub, 298 yards, 3 TD's and 2 INT's. Again, his team baked him up, his line was dominant and thus the rushing attack was very balanced and powerful. Was Schaub the reason they won? No.

Andrew Luck: 321 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Decent numbers, very similar to Romo, yet nobody blames him, cals him old, or says he is washed up.

Drew Brees: 152 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. He must be getting old, washed up and showing his very advanced age. Might as well cut him.

My point is, Romo may have not been perfect today, or last game by any means, but blaming him in every single game the Cowboys lose is cliché, there's too much in the game of football going on in order to blame a QB for a loss. Only Rodgers, P.Manning and Brady are a truly superior and a more perfect QB's than Romo today. You can make a case for Ryan and Rivers this week, but with Romo we are good enough to win. Focus should be on the running game, and the little things that make a difference collectively in order to pull away with close victories.

So far first place in the division, going home to face St. Louis. We must win these games and we should be alright. Enjoy your Sunday ladies and gentlemen.

Agree 100%. In the same vein, you can't blame the loss on #88.....You can say he could have won it, but he alone sure didn't lose it. BTW, who in the hell was calling plays there at the end?

Its hard to agree with that. Romo made some terrible mistakes and the ply calling was awful. I dont put the play calling solely on him, but all these audibles and not taking advantage of the Defense win you have some like Dez out there killing it in the red zone is ridiculous. Offense is obviously this teams weak link and the failures have to lie solely on the shoulders of Garrett, Romo and Callihan. Defense cant ball you out of every game, you have to put up points.

Who is blaming Romo? He didnt play well but there is plenty of blame to go around. Lets start with the offensive coaching staff.

When you don't throw the ball more than 2 yards downfield, you're going to have a high completion percentage.

For three quarters Romo was dead-on accurate. The fourth quarter he was way off. This tells me his painkillers wore off some and he wasn't comfortable. Because when Romo starts a game hot, he usually stays hot. (I'm really sounding like a Romo apologist, I know).

Some of the usual suspects that blame Romo for all of the Cowboys woes watch the games solely for the purpose of coming here to bash him. These posters are easy to dismiss because they obviously don't know anything about football.

I respect what the OP is saying and am as big a Romo supporter as there is. But he played average at best today. And he wasn't all that week one.

He's never been a pinpoint accurate passer. He has a ton of other outstanding qualities and has been an elite QB IMO. But he's been especially inaccurate these first two games and his overall level of play has been far less than I'm used to.

I'm also none to pleased with Murray. And since I can't trust Dunbar to hold onto the friggen ball, perhaps it's time to get Randle on the field.

If you think complete game stats tell the tale of the QB, then you my friend have lots to learn. Look at QB stats in GW situations, and you will see the top tier separate from the average joe. Romo is an average joe. Always has been, always will be.

I think that tanner needs to run the ball more. tanner did a great job of running inside better then murray did in preseason. I just about wanted to break my tv controller when dunbar fumbled. that play really turned the game around for the chiefs. I really think that we atleast would have scored three on that drive.

Was the loss all Romo's fault? Of course not. Did he play a role? You better believe he did. Several mistakes out there.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. Romo hasn't played great in either game, he has been however decent,7/10 you could say. But with that said, how could he be possibly blamed for losses?

Romo did suck today, and so did many others....including the OC play calling. Call it a team effort if you are a Romoholic. But in the end, they all sucked. Same old cowboys, lousy red zone scoring. I knew all those FGs were going to be the death nail.
