I see in the "ledge jumper's" thread that some people here believe Bledsoe played a good game today. Were you watching the same game I was? He was below average against a below average defense. Now I'm not a Bledsoe hater but I don't trust him either, so let me just say that if Bledsoe continues to play at the level he was at today, we are in for a long year when we face a quality opponent, which Houston is obviously not. Starting next week against the Giants Drew has to step it up or it may just be Romo time. Did anyone see what the Giants did to Michael Vick today? Try to picture Bledsoe, who can't move, against that defensive line. It could get ugly. Does anyone here think that Bledsoe's play today would project to a win against a good team? I sure don't see it.

Well.. Bledsoe completed 60% of his passes with 2 scores and threw balls away when he should. I guess you never figured how many times Romo would get sacked by the Giants if Vick got sacked 7 times did you? Another idiotic statement by a simpleton. I guess Bledsoe would get sacked 10 times and Romo 8 times then.

Yes. Bledsoe did what most people wanted on this board the past week. All I read was how the Cowboys need a guy to manage the game. Well he did that but still you guys are not happy.

Face the facts people. Romo isnt starting this year unless of an injury.. probably not next year either unless Bledsoe retires.

judging by fans reaction (rare booing from Texas Stadium) - I think the guy was another bad half away from being pulled in favor of Romo. I really do. He looked like a floundering guy. I think he sees the writing on the wall.

it looked like to me he was so scared to throw a pick that he just threw balls out of reach of both players

The deep ball that Romo threw to Hurd, Bledsoe would have been sacked. Romo had to get that ball out quick, Bledsoe would have never got that ball off. Romo truely makes a difference....

Dude, did you not take notice of how inaccurate alot of his throws were?
How about TO's td where he split the defenders at the back of the end zone?
Very few receiver's would've got that completion. How about the quick, short toss, again to TO, cutting inside when we really needed that 1st down?
He had his man beat & had the throw been where it should have - up around his chest and in front of him instead of behind and at the knees, he may well have turned it into a big gain. Let's not even discuss the wide open Terry Glenn on 3rd & goal that was thrown completely over the wrong shoulder.

Bledsoe was erratic the entire game. He got some of his confidence back in the 2nd half after we started scoring but, IMHO, had we been playing any capable team, his downward spiral would have continued, and we've all been down that road...

yar

In the instance of accuracy let me remind you that that ball was underthrown by 3 yards. Hurd made a great play on a wounded duck heave.

On the TD Houston put 8 on the line never dreaming that a Parcells team would run up a score that late with a pass. It was totally unexpected and I think Parcells was embarrassed by it.

I guess you missed the safety over the top, the ball was put in a place where the WR could make a play on it.

A wounded duck? That was so far away from a Quincy Carter prototype wounded duck, I am wondering if you watched the game.

...and I am sure that no decent QBs in the NFL have ever had a sub par game against a weak defense outside of Bledsoe's performance today. Right?

Remember when the likes of Aikman and Irvin struggled to connect against the freaking Arizona Cardinals (for most of their Dallas careers)?

This forum amazes me. I've never seem so much pissing and moaning over a VICTORY!

When Bledsoe throws 60% for 2TDs and no INTs, it is a "subpar" performance by your standards. Yet, when Quincy ****ing Carter does the same (as rare as it was) his bathwater drinkers claimed that he was rising to the top.

I could care less about who starts at QB for this team so long as they don't **** it up. Bledsoe deserved his criticism last week, but not this week. Get a clue.

It will never be good enough until Romo starts......thats just how it is from here on out. No matter what he does, it won't be good enough. He didn't have a turnover today and had 2 TDs it still isn't good enough for some people because some of his throws didn't look that great. Even though it rained during a good part of the first half, his throws are all him just not being able to get it done anymore.

It really doesn't have anything to do with Bledsoe's performance at this point.......people are just wanting Romo regardless of how drew performs. They will harp on every mistake he makes and point out on every small stumble along the way.........its really sad when you think about it.

from the upper deck end zone you could clearly see Bledsoe missing wide receivers all day long. Receivers were running wide open 20 yards downfield and either Bledsoe didnt see them or he checked down to an underneath receiver. The last time we saw missed opportunities like that, Q-car was missing open receivers back in 2003. 60% completion? If Bledsoe didnt have an off day, he would have hit 95%. That's how BAD the Houston coverage in the secondary was.

You are correct, and what I saw today resembled a gameplan to protect Bledsoe from getting lots of pressure and forcing balls. It was a vastly different gameplan from the Eagles game.

The most telling sign:

On the 4th and 1 play early in the game, the only option on the pass pattern was Glenn?

Bledsoe does have the option to check down to max protection, but he didn't do it on that play...meaning that the play was designed that way.

It is. And if Romo were to put up the numbers Bledsoe did today, it would have been a clutch performance against a trap team that really helped us get over the Philly loss. All hail Romo.

Its like some people on here would rather see the Cowboys lose and Bledsoe play poorly only so they can see Romo play and say, "See, i told you he wuz the next Tom Brady!"

Pathetic.

Huh????? We don't want Bledsoe, because we KNOW exactly what he is going to do against quality opponents.....and it isn't good. Living in Toronto, I had the displeasure of watching your man Drew stink it up for three years before coming to Dallas.....I can tell you NOTHING HAS CHANGED......in fact it has gotten progressively worse. This player is the same QB whose Bills missed out on the '05 playoffs by losing the final game of the season at home against Pittsburgh's second unit, not to mention the incomparable Tommy Maddox. In a must-win game, Bledsoe threw a pic and fumbled inside his own twenty for a TD, not to mention sacked numeous times....does that sound familiar?

Is Romo the answer, I don't know.....but it sure beats the hell out of waiting to find out the inevitable with Bledsoe.....he simply can't beat any defense which puts pressure on the QB and this team CANNOT win a Super Bowl with him.

So you know that the Bills went from 9-7 that season to 7-14 since he left. Wicked smaaat move! That JP Losman is the next Tom Brady. Thank god the Bills released Bledsoe from the frozen hell known as western New York. Talking about holding someone back.

Speaking of Tom Brady, Bledsoe played excellent against tough teams last year, teams that Brady lost to (i.e. SD, CAR, KC). He led game winning TD drives in the waning moments of each of those games, and was in the top 10 and top 5 in many major stat categories. Where are you getting your analysis from, eh?

He can, has, and will defeat tough teams. He's had a few bad games. Just about every QB this season has. This offense is just beginning to gel. Considered where they're already ranked, this is a scary thought.

Now go back to watching the Bills.
