In the instance of accuracy let me remind you that that ball was underthrown by 3 yards. Hurd made a great play on a wounded duck heave.

On the TD Houston put 8 on the line never dreaming that a Parcells team would run up a score that late with a pass. It was totally unexpected and I think Parcells was embarrassed by it.

Man I don't know what game you watched. Romo put that ball the only place he could for Hurd to make a play on it. As for the wounded duck, you need to watch that pass again, it was far from a wounded duck.

I just cant buy the "Drew is a money player" argument here. He throws 3 Ints and was sacked 5 or 6 times in his only SuperBowl appearance and that was behind the same line that Brady played behind and went on to glory. I think at this stage Bledsoe is a nice back-up QB. Just dont think he would be willing to do that. This is not about Tony Romo because I think alot of people would be supporting whoever the back-up QB is. It has more to do with an over-the-hill QB who looks gun-shy and might I even suggest "has lost his confidence" against good defense teams. The most telling sign for me was the boos from Texas Stadium today. Seeing alot of philly games, booing is second nature...but to see it at Texas Stadium its entirely different....its usually means the worm has turned.

So you know that the Bills went from 9-7 that season to 7-14 since he left. Wicked smaaat move! That JP Losman is the next Tom Brady. Thank god the Bills released Bledsoe from the frozen hell known as western New York. Talking about holding someone back.

Speaking of Tom Brady, Bledsoe played excellent against tough teams last year, teams that Brady lost to (i.e. SD, CAR, KC). He led game winning TD drives in the waning moments of each of those games, and was in the top 10 and top 5 in many major stat categories. Where are you getting your analysis from, eh?

He can, has, and will defeat tough teams. He's had a few bad games. Just about every QB this season has. This offense is just beginning to gel. Considered where they're already ranked, this is a scary thought.

Now go back to watching the Bills.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh........the Bills also happen to lose there starting CB, both defensive tackles, there second wideout, and decided to go with a youth movement. There was no Terry Glenn, no T.O, no Jason Witten and were hurting defensively.
It's nice you point out Tom Brady, thanks....he also happens to have WON THREE SUPER BOWLS.....how many has Bledsoe won?....oh yeah...he does own a ring....that Tom Brady won for him!!! Tom Brady got his team to the playoffs almost single handedly last season, DB got us a decent draft position. Please don't even mention the two in the same breath.....it's embarrasing.

In fairness, the Bledsoe abortion Super Bowl was in 96 and Brady took over for the 01 Super Bowl, I highly doubt the players were the same.

That doesnt absolve Bledsoes choke job of a performance, setting the record for most INT's in the big game.

Too much credit and too much blame is placed on the QB position.

Bledsoe is trying to play within the schemes and the gameplan BP wants.

Unfortunately, at times, that isn't always productive.

Just ask every QB we've had since BP arrived.

I still don't think Bledsoe is really playing up to his potential yet in this offense.

I don't think the playcalling is really suited to his strengths, either.

That being said..I think he's doing a pretty good job with what he's been given to play with.

His OL is not in the top half of the NFL, his WR's are above average and the running game hasn't done much against good defenses that would win games.

The reality is that Bledsoe is at his best throwing about 30 passes a game. He's going to get turnovers and ints, in those 30+ attempts, but he's also going to throw some strikes, too.

That's in opposition to the offense BP wants to run, which calls for the QB to throw 20 or less times a game and run the ball 30 times.

So I think what we often see is that Bledsoe does hold onto the ball more than he should at times as he's looking for the big play downfield and he knows he's probably not going to get a bunch of passes in the basic gameplan.

Not 30+, anyway.

So while I beleive Bledsoe can win for us, I question how he's being asked to play many times. He's being asked to play mistake-free football and to be conservative with his throwing and that just creates more mistakes, IMO.

Bledsoe has always been a gunslinger type QB that throws alot, gets yardage along the way and also has higher than average ints. and sacks, too.

I'm surprised so many here haven't accepted this in him and understand that there will be games like the Jaquars and Iggles games and the Seattle game last year and then where will be games like today and against the 'Skins and others where he'll do fine and play well.

The biggest issue for this team this year is not Bledsoe.

It's going to be defense and special teams.

The offense will be up and down all season as it plays against so many good defenses in the NFC.

But the defense MUST come to play every Sunday and the STs must dominate every Sunday also for this team to win and the for the offense to succeed.

Jimmy Johnson used to say you have to win 2 out of 3 of the battles each Sunday to consistantly win.

Breakdowns with the defense last week really caused the loss as much as everybody wants to blame Bledsoe and TO's circus.

And our STs are begining to just now become a consistant contributor with field position and punting from McBriar becoming an offensive weapon. If we can get Vandy in a groove, which he seems to be starting to do with KO and FGs..

..then it really comes down to the defense needing to limit teams to less than 17 pts a game and the special teams needing to control the other team and add field goals..

and the offense to find its stride and score at least 21 pts a game.

So you can rant all you want about Bledsoe. He is what he is. But Bledsoe wasn't brought here to win games by himself. He is being asked not to lose them, though.

Just ask Phil Simms about this. He can tell you.

So until the defense steps up and just shutsdown the other teams, Bledsoe and the offense is going to sputter at times and mistakes will be magnified because of the conservative attack BP wants.

Show me a top 3-5 defense in Dallas and I'll show you a potentially championship team and a more effective Bledsoe and offense.

Don't and we'll continue to want to blame Bledsoe for problems that aren't of his own making.

And I'll spare you the issues with the OL and pass protection.

Oh my.

Huh????? We don't want Bledsoe, because we KNOW exactly what he is going to do against quality opponents.....and it isn't good. Living in Toronto, I had the displeasure of watching your man Drew stink it up for three years before coming to Dallas.....I can tell you NOTHING HAS CHANGED......in fact it has gotten progressively worse. This player is the same QB whose Bills missed out on the '05 playoffs by losing the final game of the season at home against Pittsburgh's second unit, not to mention the incomparable Tommy Maddox. In a must-win game, Bledsoe threw a pic and fumbled inside his own twenty for a TD, not to mention sacked numeous times....does that sound familiar?

Is Romo the answer, I don't know.....but it sure beats the hell out of waiting to find out the inevitable with Bledsoe.....he simply can't beat any defense which puts pressure on the QB and this team CANNOT win a Super Bowl with him.

It isnt like the rest of the team has shown up against a quality oppenent either. Its been awhile since I have seen the O-Line play well against a good team dating back to last year AT Giants and AT Commanders where they looked down right pathetic. The defense didnt help their " top 5 " cause against the Eagles either.

Amen to that......I have never been one to subscribe to the "he who screws up last is a fault theory" which is why I didn't put the Philly loss all on the shoulders of Drew.......

There are plenty of "sore" spots on the team that need to be sured up before you can definently say that it is any single player holding the team back.........

I see in the "ledge jumper's" thread that some people here believe Bledsoe played a good game today. Were you watching the same game I was? He was below average against a below average defense. Now I'm not a Bledsoe hater but I don't trust him either, so let me just say that if Bledsoe continues to play at the level he was at today, we are in for a long year when we face a quality opponent, which Houston is obviously not. Starting next week against the Giants Drew has to step it up or it may just be Romo time. Did anyone see what the Giants did to Michael Vick today? Try to picture Bledsoe, who can't move, against that defensive line. It could get ugly. Does anyone here think that Bledsoe's play today would project to a win against a good team? I sure don't see it.

I hear ya and agree on just about everything... except... Drew is a REAL QB and Vick is not.... the Giants know that Vick cant pass for squat.... Drew has a slingers chance of beating Giants
