Bledsoe or Roethlisberger?

Because he has been sacked 451 times...
Because he has 198 Ints in 188 games played
Because he has 120 Fumbles in 188 games played
Because he has career completion percentage of 57.3
Because he has a career yardage per attempt 6.64
Because he ranks 180th for points per yards
Because he has shown he cracks under pressure
Because for the most part the running game suffers with him

Post-season records and statistics
  • 4-3 in the post-season
  • 252 passes attempted
  • 129 passes completed
  • 1335 passing yards (190.7 ypg)
  • 6 passing touchdowns
  • 12 passes intercepted
  • 21 passing attempts per interception in the post-season
The dude is absolutely positively no where near elite... and no one you would like to have in post season or when the pressure is on

He has finished last or next to last (when he was a starter) either 9 - 12 or 10 - 13 times in his division...(now sometimes that was with a winning record but still you have to win the division if you want a better chance to play in the superbowl)

Wow, don't let me catch you defending Taylor, he might just get off...

Great job Zax !

Wish I could stay to see the reply, but gotta go pee in a cup for a Dell contract...Wish me luck !

It goes down to 21 attemps per turnover which is still better than Ben.

and drew's not "gotten better" in time? he's not learned how to avoid some of these mistakes?

what i'm really saying is it's a silly comparison and NOT something valid stats will support either way IN THIS MANNER.

Big Ben every day and twice on Sundays. He's a better game manager and won't throw as many picks.

1 ) Im sure all those sacks are his fault alone.

2 ) Which is still less INTs than some HoFers. You also forgot to mention the 244 TD passes.

3 ) Thats odd. ESPN has his fumbles at 44 with 13 lost since 93.

4 ) 57.3 is considered bad now? Dont forget his 6500 attempts either.

5 ) Show me where you got this stat. I have never seen it anywhere. It certainly isnt an official stat. Is this only QBs or does it include running backs and recievers?

6 ) Bledsoe had an 87 QB rating against the Blitz this year.

7 ) I have no clue how you came to this conclusion.

Elway was in the same boat as Bledsoe untill Terrell Davis came along. So I would say Bledsoe is one of the elite QBs to have played.

See my previous postsd about INTs per attempt.

Hmm...

Better passer?

Last time I looked Big Ben had better "passer" ratings.

yeah, when you only attempt 22 passes a game, and have better protection...

Bledsoe reminds me of a mature Hutch. No pocket presense and a fumbling machine.

you mean no pocket? yes, Bledsoe holds onto the ball too long, but we saw him when he had time...

QB Rating is to worst stat to use when you judge a QB. Especially in this case.

Bledsoe threw the ball 231 more times then Ben did. When you only have to throw 268 times then its going to be easy to keep your rating up because that means you are running over people. I seriously doubt if Ben could keep his rating above 70 if he actaully did throw the ball 500 times.

Next idiotic statement please.

Edit: Bledsoe threw an INT every 29.3 attemps while Ben threw an INT every 29.7 attempts. That number would probably jump considerably if he did throw it more.

:hammer:

Bledsoe has also only had a RB go over 1000 yards while averaging 4 yards a carry 5 times in his career. That was in 95 and 97 with Curtis Martin ( Notice how 96 is missing? ) and 2002 , 2003 with Travis Henry and 2004 with Willis Mcgahee (sp?). Drew has allso suffered years like 2000 where the leading rusher for his team only had 570 yards ( Kevin Faulk I think ).

Edit : I am not saying that Drew Bledsoe is the best QB to ever play.. But he is certainly better than Big Ben.

for those hating on Bledsoe, c'mon, you have to admit we have a pretty good QB at the helm

then let bledsoe "speak for himself" and quit homering up stupid stats that only work ONE way and people would "hate" less.

when you stand up and say stupid things, people will speak against the stupidity. the "person" will then think it's against the actual subject at hand and not just the stupid in commentary in general.

so those busting the "bledsoe "STAT" chops" are not so much busting on bledsoe as those who continue to sell him at any cost.

I'm not homering up stupid stats, I'm not saying stupid things, I never said anything close to what your accusing me of, only sticking up for Bledsoe from unfounded criticsm, and giving you the facts, jack

Bledsoe the last two years when he throws 25+ a game:

Average Completions Per Game - 19
Average Completion % Per Game - 57.5
Average Yards Per Game - 224.3
Average TDs Per Game - 1.4
Average INTs Per Game - 1.1
Average QB Rating Per Game - 79.4
Average Sacks Per Game - 2.6
Average Sack Yards Lost Per Game - 15.5
Average Fumbles Per Game - .7

Ben R the last two years when he throws 25+ a game:

Average Completions Per Game - 18.7
Average Completion % Per Game - 65.0
Average Yards Per Game - 227.6
Average TDs Per Game - 1.6
Average INTs Per Game - 1.0
Average QB Rating Per Game - 93.1
Average Sacks Per Game - 2.4
Average Sack Yards Lost Per Game - 15.1
Average Fumbles Per Game - .1

Based on the last two years when throwing 25+ times a game the stats suggest that Ben R would put up better stats.

Just for Bledsoe4MVP I am not hating on your boy. Since he is a Cowboy he is also my boy. Just like JuJo is my boy too, but he is not the RB that LaDanian Tomlinson is.

I will continue to sell Bledsoe. Especially when being compared to a QB whos career high in passing is 2621 yards and 17 TDs. Amazing how a SB Ring somehow makes people think players are better than they really are.

gbrittain, could you do that for just this last year? There are significant differences between Bledsoe's dallas and buffalo numbers.

yeah Bledsoe is so much worse than Big Ben :p:

I'm sure one or 2 could be blamed on something else

2 ) Which is still less INTs than some HoFers. You also forgot to mention the 244 TD passes.

are you telling me in 6548 he could only manage 244 TD's disgusting

Vinny T managed to get 269 TD's in 6526 attempts which is 22 less attempts

yes it is bad it is disgusting.... Kelly freaking Holcomb has a 64.6 career comp % for goodness sakes...Bledsoe comp % is in the area of charlie batch and aj feeley

5 ) Show me where you got this stat. I have never seen it anywhere. It certainly isnt an official stat. Is this only QBs or does it include running backs and recievers?

just qb's and it goes by yardage=points and no it is not an official stat but who the heck cares..bledsoe throws for yards but they don't translate to points

6 ) Bledsoe had an 87 QB rating against the Blitz this year.

whoppie de do

7 ) I have no clue how you came to this conclusion.

pretty easy...he hasn't been in a west coast offense and has many attempts and his coaches were for the most part believers in the ground game.. and no coach wants to arbitrarily throw the ball around when they can pound it on the ground and eat the clock...therefor it makes sense that for the most part the teams he was on weren't able to run the ball that effectively...my believe is that it is because Bledsoe puts a lot of pressure on the offensive line and the running game...The def. lineman and LB's have no fear to shoot the gaps... they aren't worried about Bledsoe getting outside of them or running up the middle...

Elway was in the same boat as Bledsoe untill Terrell Davis came along. So I would say Bledsoe is one of the elite QBs to have played.

Elway carried his team to the SB twice with little to no help...

Bledsoe had guys like

this on offense
Byars, Keith
Martin, Curtis
Coates, Ben
Glenn, Terry
Jefferson, Shawn
Vinatieri, Adam
Meggett, Dave

and guys like this on Defense

McGinest, Willie
Eaton, Chad
Bruschi, Tedy
Law, Ty
Milloy, Lawyer
Slade, Chris
Tupa, Tom

and abunch of other "name" players

and he still couldn't get it done

go check out Elway's 2 trips to the SB before terrell davis and look at his roster

Elway = Great (maybe the greatest)
Bledsoe = barely adequate (sorry but it is true)
