I thought, when I watched the game, that Peppers was holding Drew up, trying to let seconds tick off of the clock. At least it looked that way to me.

Doubt that. I mean it's possible, but I doubt it. Peppers looked to be grabbing for the ball as well as trying to drag Bledsoe down. But it just wasn't going as planned for Peppers... who wasn't the best defensive player on the field due to a rookie that goes by DeMarcus Ware.

Usually, if you take a dog...and hit is in the face enough times....it will wince when you raise your hand.

you hit a dog in the face? :)

several times?

Nope....not me.

But I can always tell those that do......by the way their dog reacts when I go to pet it.

Definitely.....

He is a power runner...not a speed runner :D

He needs to put his head down and do a bull rush. He could probably carry 2 tacklers on his back.
You referring to Bledsoe?

Yep :D

He should not be afraid to run because he is slow.....he should change his mindset to that of a power runner.

It looked to me like he was struggling to get him down.

There was one play where Peppers was trying to get the ball. He initially had Bledsoe in his grasp and then he put both hands on the ball. And Bledsoe was still looking down field.

They struggled over the ball like a mini tug of war....and then Peppers started going for the takedown again...and by that time help had arrived.

Anyway...that is the way I remember it....I could be wrong. Anyone have a replay ?

Bledsoe is big and he's strong. Why would anyone assume that someone big and strong is easy to take down?

Every QB will get sacked. Some more than others.

I don't like the thought of him running, first off it's not a pretty picture - and secondly, he would be murdered out there.

I just don't see him breaking out of many grasps.

It always seems that when contact is made...he is going to go down.

It also seems that sometimes, if he had more pocket awareness, that contact could be avoided.

The guy just seems to be so mentally locked into what is going on downfield....that he has no sense or presence on what is going on around him.

I think that the good pocket QB's are able to have a shared mindshare between what is going on downfield and what is going on around them. Brady is an example of a QB that can do this...as is McNabb...IMO

I think it was Simeon Rice or someone of equal caliber that said that about Bledsoe.

I never said he was elusive. He isn't. But he's still big and he's still very strong.

Agreed completely !

I thought that Vinny was pretty strong last year.....but Bledsoe is heads and tails above him.

I would venture to say that Bledsoe is the strongest QB (physically) and one of the toughest QB (Physically and Mentally) that these old eyes have ever seen.

QB's earn respect standing in tere from their teamates. As a former WR - Nothing is more deflating than beating a Dback and getting free only to see your QB take off like a scared bunny.

And in Drews case all his receivers know that Drew has the arm and guts to get it to them. Keeps them focused.

Yep.....I could see where the WR's would never give up trying to get open..

Usually receivers probably operate off of a 5-6 second clock in their heads....but not with Drew

He has this fans respect.....and he had to earn it....because I was not a believer initially.

I think thats why Drew Tore into Key. He's back there getting killed and can't afford his WR's to drop or fumble away positive plays.

I really like the VET and Youth weapons we have..... Key, Drew, Glenn and JJ and Witten. If we can stabilize the Oline we can really get after defenses.

He should have torn into TGlenn at Washington for dropping a key first down, that would have continued a drive that wound up resulting in a TD for Washington.

I think it was Bruce Smith that said DB was the hardest Qb to sack.

He said he was so big and strong.

Interesting....
