Bleeding Green Nation: 5 Burning Questions About Eagles @ Cowboys

might as well post something from extremeskin as this garbage.

Q: Can the Eagles win the Super Bowl?

A: No. In the Super Bowl era they have exactly zero wins. They were blown out by the Raiders in 1981 and lost a close game to the Patriots in 2004 thanks to a heroic effort by franchise immortal Terrell Owens.

Glad we cleared that up.

5. Okay, but can the Cowboys win in Dallas against the Eagles in a late season game with playoff implications?

No. The Cowboys have not won in Dallas in December against the Eagles since 1999. They lost in 2002, 2006, 2007 at home in Dallas to the Eagles in December. The Cowboys also blew it in December at the Eagles in 2003, 2004, and 2008. The Cowboys blew a shot in the playoffs in the game in 2008, nearly blew the #1 seed in 2007, blew the division title in 2006, and blew the division title in 2003. That's a lot of choking for such a short period of time.

Good thing then that we are not playing them in December, eh? It will be January when we play them, not December. So

There is a reason that Dallas is 1-8 vs. the Eagles since 2000 and 3-11 vs. the Eagles since 1995 in the second game of the season

Unless they get the checkdown back in their offense we will stop the big play all game long.

Our corners just match up to well with their receivers.

We'll take on little fast guys all day. Its the big physical fast guys that worry me.

Will Nick Cole be able to stop Jay Ratliff now that Jamaal Jackson is out with an ACL- Answer: No

These stats are completely meaningless. Drawing linkages and conclusions dating back to the Aikman years has no relevance for this weekend's game.

14 points? LOL! They have given up an average of 26 points the last 3 games. What, are they going to suddenly find a defense? The couldn't hold us to 14 on their field this season.

The Eagles have held 3 opponents to under 14 points all season long. They are 2-1 in those games. Oakland put up 13, and the Eagles lost that game.

I will give someone a solid quarter to send this through an email to the blogger.

I was just getting ready to post what you stated about Coach Johnson. He always liked to play a vanilla defense early in the year and then bring the heat late. It will be interesting if Mcdermott does the same thing or is able to.

It does not look like that is happening. He gave up 38 points to the Giants and they racked over 500 yards total. Unfortunately, the Giants suck that they lost (how did we get swept by them).:bang2: His defense let Denver back in the game in the 3rd quarter this past Sunday. They have a good secondary and a good front 7 but they are not nearly as aggressive as they use to be. Not to mention that the loss of Dawkins is still a hole in that defense. He is also not there anymore.

I did get a chuckle out of seeing "no" to every question, but I will say this: That's an sickening stat about us failing to score over 14 points against them in the second meeting. Of course, this is a different team and it might not matter a hill of beans.

I could also turn that stat on his head and say that Jim Johnson was the defensive coordinator of those teams and isn't now. We'll see if that has any bearing on the hated 'second meeting.'

Fixed your post, damn this chaps my butt that the Eagles have dominated us so bad over the last 10 years. I wish we could flip those stats for the next 20 years, scratch that, 50 years.

I HATE THE EAGLES!!
