IVE BEEN HERE brother it happens, ive run afoul in relationships and found myself checkin' on their pages and stuff like that.

The key is to find another distraction, sometimes your lust for a woman is like being drunk or addicted, you are not in your normal senses and after its all over and you are sobered up you will look back and say "i cant believe i was hung up over her!"....Checking her status is akin to taking another hit to feel good...Except she doesn't make you feel good anymore does she? Now shes an extremely negative influence on your life and livelihood, something that needs ditching!

Date! Put yourself back out there, restart a hobby, make some kind of adjustment that refocuses your attention and efforts so that she isn't the octopus pullin' on your brain anymore. Find a new apple for your eye or let it look out a good window awhile. Just don't go, don't visit that site, and every day gets better, until you're in the clear.

I agree, even if you were friends, cut off all contact or potential contacts. Avoid places you think she might be (unless it is class or something).

I know a heartbreak can be pretty painful, but the less reminders of her, the faster you can mend.

Yes, cut her out completely, even cut out things that right now remind you of her or things you associate with her in your memory. Banish her from your mind and your out of her control.

Edit: Working out helped me a lot during those kinds of periods in my life, especially jogging or running.

This one is awesome, I ran my *** off and bulked up the last time a girl broke my heart, not only is it a good stress reliever for aggression you'll produce more dopamine during the recovery periods which is gonna have a subtle but consistent effect on your mentality.

I'm not on twitter, so I'm not real sure.... But can you just defriend her or unsubscribe to her updates?

My theory after a breakup is to delete everything out of phone, email, internet, social networking, etc. There should be no temptation to contact her... drunk dials are the devil.
But they can be hilarious when you're not the one dialing..

I've only had my phone taken from me once.

Most of the time, if I know the goal of the night, I'll start confiscating cell phones upon arrival.

Ironic first name.

If you have an ounce of testosterone in you, you shouldn't be visiting that site in the first place.

First off thank you guys for all the advice and tips on how to best get through this. I really did just want to know how to block the website, but all of the things you said really helped. Especially WarC.

I also knew other people would think its pathetic and all that, and I don't blame you, I used to be the same way when one of my friends would go through something like this. And I feel pathetic myself that I am handling it this way.

And I don't get the ironic first name thing? William, because I have no will?

I guess

to elaborate on what someone else said

If the file isn't there, this will prompt you to create it. Then just save it.

Start -> Run -> notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Maybe a little late but whatever you do, don't drink! That will only make it worse.

Do something to boost your self esteem. Getting laid as much as possible and working out should do the trick.

Unfortunately I have a tedious meaningless job at Staples for the summer while im home from college that prevents me from being able to jump up and go somewhere. I wish.

I am going to try and go to a Rangers game this weekend with a friend though. Its just funny how meaningless some promises can turn out to be.

If you can't take a road trip, then it is time to take up a really good physical fitness routine. Not some willy-nilly walking routine, but a serious regimen that will make you feel better mentally and physically. It will actually help with your depression. Here is a link to good article from the Mayo Clinic on it:

I also would suggest that you download some real motivational music in your I-Pod/MP3 to add to the intensity of the session.

Also, just stay off of the internet and away from Bars as much as possible until you get past it. It will keep you from doing something "regrettable".
