Blown Call should not take away for the main reason for the loss.

I totally agree that the call was ridiculous, from many perspectives. Not the least of which is the reversal of the play which is supposed to be indisputable evidence that the call was wrong. Was there evidence that the ball ever touched the ground?
All this aside here are what i see as the main reasons for the loss.
The Demarco Fumble. It looked as if he may have scored on that play.
The failure to recover the kickoff fumble, Looked to me Like the first player to touch the ball was a Cowboy.
The most important factor was the coaches lack of situational awareness at the end of the half. You have to realize that you got a great spot to give you a first down and you have to get to the line and get a play off so that the call doesn't get reviewed. Instead we call timeout. How many times you see Belichick hurrying his team to the line to get a play off in that situation? I hope that Garrett improves on that. Then we line up in shotgun in what appears to be a pass on 3rd and 1. I know Romo checked out of the original call but I believe he checked from one pass to another. (situational awareness) down and distance, time remaining in the half. I am a Garrett fan but that isn't smart football, add a missed FG and you get a 6 point swing to end the half.
The call was only apart of the reason we lost this one.

Good post - we all knew at the end of the day the defense would doom us. We gotta go all in next year, screw the salary cap. No reason to save money for five years from now.

There are many reasons we lost.

*defense couldn't make a stop at the end of the game to get the ball back
*Bailey missed a field goal
*controversial no catch call on Dez
*controversial catch call on Cobb
*finishing poorly at the end of the first half
*Murray fumble

Call is almost moot if we stop them on 3rd and long

Garrett didn't have the advantage on instant replay. From his angle he might have thought the spot was correct and called the timeout immediately as a result which was the correct thing to do.

The guys upstairs are the ones who should have told him to hurry if any thing. It's one reason they are there.

How do you realize you have a good spot? You're on the sideline.

What you do know is that there is 40 seconds. Refs blow a first down. You have to stop the clock.

Don't be an idiot.

Enough with the nonsense. The call DID help decide the game. We score there, and we're up on the Packers.

The correct call wouldn't have guaranteed a win, but the Cowboys chances to win the game probably go up to 50%+ at that point if that call isn't reversed and the Cowboys score a TD.

No calls on Romo - roughing....

but really not being able to stop gimpy Rodgers on the last two drives? Back breaker....

I really hated how conservative we got on defense. When you need a stop, jump a route or two.

Right, but the Packers would get the ball back with ample time, and a couple of timeouts left. Unfortunately, there was nothing our defense was going to do to stop Rodgers.

I've never seen that called a catch so I'm not going to say it was blown call. The turning point was Murray fumbling. That really hurt.
