Youngstas!!!

The blue jerseys have been jinxed for years; and whoever said that we wear them on the road is absolutely true...but the blue jerseys are actually our home jersey. Anyone who has ever played football, basketball, will tell you that the white jerseys are always designed to be a teams road or travelling uniform.

The Cowboys way back in the late sixties / early seventies decided (unknown reason) to make their white jerseys their home jersey. They had so much success thereafter, that George Allen (Commanders coach) decided to wear their white jerseys in DC when the Cowboys came, forcing them to wear their blues. Seems like everytime the Cowboys played the Commanders in DC wearing blues, they lost. Other teams like mainly Philly, caught on to the trend in subsequent seasons and will often wear their white jerseys especially in big games at home, thus dictating that the Daboys wear their blues.

See ya,

It's a very old superstition I used to believe as a kid in the 80's, but we just lose more on the road...

I just believe that we wear white jerseys so much, that our often old QBs get confused and throw the banana to wrong team when the game is on the line.

Football's different from every other sport in that regard. In the other big sports, the teams usually wear white at home. Baseball's default colors are white at home and grey on the road. You'll see alternate jerseys every now and then, but 80% of the time it's that way.

Same with basketball. For most teams anyway. If the team doesn't have white... a la the Lakers... they wear the lighter color. Yellow at home, purple on the road. The Lakers have white unis too, but they're the alternates.

From 1981 (the first year of the current version of the blue jerseys) through 2004, Dallas had a slightly better road record wearing blue than wearing white. I figured it up once and if anyone wants to see the numbers and results, I will be happy to post them again.

The bottom line - - no jinx.

Not true. We always wore white at RFK during the 1970s, including the 1972 Championship Game. In 1981, Gibbs took over and emulated the Cowboys by having the Skins wear white at home.

I believe it was Joe Gibbs that started wearing white at home in the 80's, and made us wear the blue. It has been a long standing, at least as far as I am concerned, that when we wear the blue we tend to lose. Did Danny White wear blue in all 3 NFC championship loses? I think we wore white the day of the catch?
