Love jaylon and rooting for him big time. It's just hit or miss with these comments. Broaddus who I dislike says he looks slower and wearing brace. Then Brandt says he looks fast and great. I'll hold judgement until we see him in pads

I will give the first few weeks of TC as an...ease him into things...type scenario. not expecting too much right away. And that means it is not an indication of he is not ready.
It means that is part of their recovery plan. Get him acclimated to the pads and the rigors of his 1st active TC. His 1st real physical contact in 19 months.
Be patient everyone, it is still a slow process, but with an exponentially planned recovery time to get to 100%.

I will take Brandt's opinion over Broaddus's.
And if anyone disagrees with that, then they have no freaking clue. :lmao:

this all sounds good.
what bothers me is IF Jaylon is now flashing all this improvement and more to go, what was those that BLUSTER about Jaylon playing at a high level for the playoffs back in January?
If he has a slight limp in mid-June after amazing improvement, how big would the limp have been in January?
I haven't seen a slight limp when I've watched him running around.

Some say they have seen a slight limp and some say they haven't... it is likely in the eye of the beholder. Human nature says that the people who didn't like the pick and have said they don't think he'll make it back will be the ones thinking they see a limp... and the people who said he'll play at a high level are the guys not seeing a limp.

I watched with as objective an eye as I possibly could muster and didn't see a limp. But I'm not perfect, so....

His change of direction looks pretty good and to me, that was always going to be one of the big hurdles for him. Having to plant and re-direct. I don't think tackling will be that big a deal for him unless he's taking on someone like Zeke head-on... having to plant and drive his legs.

The biggest test will be taking on a blocking guard in the run game and having to stack and shed. That will stress the healed injury the most out of everything. However, his change of direction (which will be the biggest part of his game) is really pretty good and was a worry spot for me initially because he's a run and chase LB and will be in coverage a good bit.

Overall though, the guy looks really really good with almost 3 months to go until the real games. It is almost a best case scenario.

i dont know where the author was on the pick.

in terms of taking on a guard, the knee seems 100% healed. then there is also how the nerve react and continue to output its signal like that though they would already know if there is an issue because that stress can be simulated.

did anyone already post this?

@Gil_Brandt
Tremendous workout by @thejaylonsmith at Cowboys minicamp today. Doesn't look like he's lost any speed. Big test will be in pads in camp.

Thank you for your post. It's always refreshing to get inside info from a legendary poster as yourself. I feel much more confident that Jaylon will be a HOF player after reading this. Salud, Mr. Putty.

The news is so various on JSmith I have tempered my expectations this year. I think that's prudent.
I do expect Smith to be full monster next year.
Just expect everything to be bad, so when it's good it's a nice surprise, and if it's not you expected it. That's what I do. But I also have to take depression pills everyday, so just disregard everything I just said.
