the fan hired gavin from 610 in Houston. He doesn't mess around. He made 610 the #1 station in Houston and probably will do the same for the fan.

Gavin is best known as being Russ martins whipping boy back before 105.3 was the fan.

Of interest to me...

...300k/year? Dang, I didn't know Radio had that kind of scratch!

I know Rhynes was making close to 700k back in the day. Salaries went down a bit after the economy went down after 9/11 but I'm sure they've gone back up.

Can't imagine Galloway's salary.

darn good living and certainly something worth protecting.

re:greg
a shame the guy got drugged out and hasn't been able to let it go.
also a shame he is getting help from his only stable relationship.

re: musers.
listened a bit on way in.
lots of commercials then a short segment on BaDD radio that made sense (if oversold the the staying as some form of love from BaDD for the Ticket and Cumulus and not contractual right to match) then off to dialect talk and more commercials about these guys garage bands.... wow.
not sure how anyone can actually enjoy that morass.
lack of any real local competition but still fairly bad.

I have a friend who's lived in Uptown for more than a decade who told me that Greggo was a regular at the coke parties back in the day.

Here is Richie Witts take on the Greggo train wreck that he could not get out from underneath. Very sad that Greggo is such a loser. He had so many people around him who enabled his behavior, and the Ticket/Fan was not the correct environment for someone this bent IMO.
