Bob Grotz of Delco Time: Eagles look tired and the bottom to fall out

Honestly I think some of the Eagles absolutely believe the Cowboys are better than them. You could see it on their faces the other day, some of them looked like they knew they couldnt win to me.

This whole "we didnt try"..."we didnt want to show stuff" is just an attempt to convince themselves that they can really play with us. Because they had all the motivations in the world to win that game, and got beat down pretty good.

No game is ever a "lock" and we COULD lose, but I think unless we have several turnovers it will be extremely difficult for Philly to win this game.

None of the Eagles players made those comments. These comments were made by talking heads such as Rick Gosselin.

Remember, Michael Strahan stated after the Super Bowl win that Dallas was still be best team they faced. So even if some of the players on the Eagles may feel a bit inferior, it doesn't change the fact that the gap isn't so wide that he Eagles cannot win.

They went toe to toe with us in the first match up.

I just hope people don't get "sucked in" and realize that this is an NFC East opponent not named Washington and generally, it is a fairly close game.

What really concerns me is just how bad Donovan McNabb played. He looked as bad as I have ever seen him and couldn't hit the side of a barn and missed on some big plays.

I believe this game is going to be close. I don't see a blowout.

It is extremely hard to play back to back games on the road. Against a winning team it is even harder. In a playoff atmosphere it is even harder.

They are near falling apart. We are coming together. We need to protect the football and just take care of business. Nothing cute is needed. Just execute.

Money post.

I agree. I you look at two of the games we really struggled in, it was the Packers and Giants games when both of them really had their backs against the wall.

The Eagles last week had a lot to play to play for, but it wasn't do or die. Plus I agree with those above who have said the Eagles walked in here last week and thought we would fold up, 44-6 style. Had to take them completely by surprise when we simply outmuscled them, and clearly took the steam out of them.

They lost a lot of leadership when Dawkins left, but there still some veteran pros over there like Trotter and Westbrook. If they got any fight in them they are going to come out hard to start the game. If we can hold off the initial onslaught we should be in good shape, but if they get a big play or two early then we'll see if the Cowboys have matured as much as everyone says they have.

This guy was dead serious.

He told the host of the radio show that the Eagles flat out look done.

You never know but the most plausible answer is often the simplest. The Eagles really do look like they're fading.

A lot of people have mentioned that the game will be close. Whether it's a blowout or a nail biter, the Cowboys are clearly superior to the Eagles at this point and should win this game. It has been a long time since anyone could say that. The Cowboys backs are just as much against the wall as Philly's are. The thirteen year thing is hanging over their heads. If Philly loses, no one cares. If Dallas loses, it will be talked about until next January. The Eagles won't be the only emotional/motivated team on the field Saturday night.

Perfectly stated.

No doubt in my mind the Cowboys will be jacked up for this game. My fear is we get to jacked up and guys start over pursuing plays. I want this team playing with emotions as long as those emotions does not cloud their judgment in doing their assigned jobs.

Collapse the pocket from the middle and force Mcnabb into the OLBs.

Look for the late receiver out of the backfield or delayed while blocking.

Power football and blow them off the line when we have the ball.

Protect Tony and make them pay early and often for the blitz.

This is not a done deal. Anything can happen.

But Dallas is the better team.

However, 1994 NFC Championship game Dallas was the better team.

Play to win, not to not lose.

I'm gonna keep it real. I wouldn't be surprised if we scored 44 points against these guys. They are toast.

I hope they quit and begin pointing fingers and yelling and rolling up in fetal positions and crying--but I doubt it will happen. But if you pause for a minute and just visualize that--how wonderful.

Nothing about Andy Reid in the fetal position is wonderful. :puke:

Threads like this are torture. I already can't freakin' wait for tomorrow night... then I read a thread like this and I'm foaming at the mouth.

32 hours......

I think the Eagles are going to be exhausted. It'll be tough for them to win. I feel that we are more physically prepared as well as mentally prepared for this game then they are!

Wasn't that the one where we got it and ran it in for a touch?

Yep, I think it was Randall Williams. He ran the fasted 40 yard dash in history as well. 3 seconds. :lmao2:

I think we need to run a bunch of trick plays in this game. ;)

It is all about the first quarter Hos. We jump out to a first quarter lead and punch them in the mouth early, then we should cruise to an easy win. We let them score first or make some mistakes with turnovers we will be in a dog fight. Our heroes cannot let the Eagles have any momentum early.

Nice signature pic. That girl is one hot little dish.

With Andy Reid coaching on the other side, you had better expect a trick play or two. I've seen him run surprise onside kicks several times. He started a game in Dallas once with one.

Backfired on him though...Randall Williams scooped it up and scored in like less than 4 seconds.....

He's done it at least twice actually. The first time he did it I think was the season opener in 2000, they recovered it.

There's never a such thing as "too jacked up."

The more fired up you are for a game, the more adrenaline you've got pumping, and the more your instincts take over. There are two ways to get "in the zone":

One is when your body goes cold - you tune everything out. There are no sounds, there is no crowd, there aren't even any opponents on the field. It's you, and the ball, and you're tearing it up.

The other is when you get fired up, and the adrenaline numbs you. Your body acts on instinct - fight or flight, and in the game of football there is only fight. Nothing else matters - even the English language doesn't make sense to you, but somehow you comprehend what your coaches and teammates are saying. You exist, you play, and you dominate.

This all my opinion/experience of course :

I disagree. I have seen it happen where guys start over running trying to make plays on their own instead of keeping the wits about them. There is nothing wrong with emotions but you have to keep your head and yes when you fail to keep it under control emotions can get the better of you.
