You would seriously want to sit though another year of Garrett if he flamed out this year? I'll checked back w/ ya if that happens...because I just can't see Jerry/Stephen not doing anything if this went down hill. Too much pressure to make a change.

Im not a Garrett fan at all but Garrett has proven he can win some games in this league although it is inconsistent.

Bob Stoops teams are good when they are the bully. He has feasted on weak competition & no defenses in the big 12 for his entire career. He is a plan A coach that has no plan B. Overrated.

Harry Highschool is walking away with his pockets and his brother's pockets full of money. Good for him! I don't see his system fairing any better than Kelly's at the pro level.

Stoops is overrated.

If Dallas let Jason go I would prefer Jim Harbaugh especially with a young Dak, Zeke and that oline.

Agree! I thought we were idiotic not to swoop in and grab Harbaugh from San Fran when it was clear he was on his way out. I'm not sure Harbaugh wouldn't have already won a SB here.

As for Stoops, glad to see him go. I have to wonder if something will come out at some point later where he would've gotten in trouble for. Lot of major names have pulled that stunt (I.e. Run away Scott free knowing a hammer will drop on you and the program soon), Kiffin, Carrol,....

Yep. Came in 1999. Long time.
Hire date was actually in December of 98. But yeah 18 seasons is a long time. I believe he's going to sit back and watch his twin sons play at Norman North this year. But I wouldn't be shocked to see him coaching at some level again some day. Maybe not for a few years. Drake could actually play at a pretty high level of D1.

Stoops has heart disease, Stoops said he is done coaching for good, his father died on the sidelines at age 54 from a heart attack, Stoops could die the same way as his father did if he went back to coaching so I do not blame him for retiring early and being done with coaching for good, I will miss Stoops, he is a Sooners legend!

He will be Notre Dame's next coach once Brian Kelly is fired.
