I mean seriously dude. he broke his ankle. Smith snapped his leg such that they thought he may never walk again. Theisman snapped his leg when Lawrence Taylor tackled him and ended his career. Brady had a knee injury, after which they changed the QB tackling rules. Dak's foot got caught under his leg and broke his ankle...
and we are not breaking the bank. expectations are to get a contract based on current market value of a top 10 QB which he is.....its the market.....
and this is not about Job Jerry has done over the past 25 years...... that's a whole separate issue. the FO personnel didn't rank Jerry or other FOs. they ranked a player.....so you are getting mixed up here, although I sympathize with our frustration.
its breaking everybody's bank. houston, seattle, rams, eagles, KC and , allen, rodgers are about to get paid too...It is the market, but it's breaking our bank. Let's say we sign Dak, then we are counting on a new DC and the draft to fix a legendarily bad defense. Granted, even if we save money by not signing Dak, there's no guarantee Jerry has any interest in shopping outside the bargain bin anyway, in which case we aren't doing anything but eyeing the 2022 draft in October.
We're gonna do something stupid, aren't we?
it has been tried . dak started 1-4 . as usual , there is someone to blame but not dak . Dak is 6-11 in his last 17 starts . I agree the defense is bad but dak has not distinguished himself to earn 35-40 mil. This team needs a lot of help and the QB is not as a big priority in comparison.I love the people that want a full blown rebuild after a win now coaching hire.....along with a front office that has never won crap while they were in charge.
I'm not at all confident the Dak/MM combo is a winner, but you've got to try before blowing it up.
People assume blowing it up makes it better in 2-3 years like teams that hire real football people.
All I know is this....it doesn't seem that a team can pay a QB top money, blow the draft, and expect to win.it has been tried . dak started 1-4 . as usual , there is someone to blame but not dak . That feeling was just gas caused by too much click baitSo much for that deadline.
He didn't say which ThursdayThis didn't age well.
they are sure expensive , but honestly if you have a decent QB at 10-15 mil value , which the cowboys can locate, either( Dalton or Gilbert may blossom and get you the needed wins by the way ) , but surround them with talent and a STOUT defense. you can win a super bowl . Just look at Flacco , Foles Dilfer etc. Heck , Matt Ryan , Delhomme , Garapolo , Grossman , Goff and others also made it to the super bowl and i dont' see that much talent there. It seems if you have elite defense you have a better chance. Don't see a great difference with our without dak as long as they have a decent QB.All I know is this....it doesn't seem that a team can pay a QB top money, blow the draft, and expect to win.
IMO the alternative to Dak isn't much cheaper these days, so may as well keep him.
Maybe the league and union will eventually agree to something to keep QB salaries in line....or the owners will wise up.
There aren't many teams that have a good QB that isn't getting paid, so the draft becomes that much more important.
