Heard this and canceled myself
wellsaidThey really are pushing sports reporting going strictly by catering to Vegas odds on every thing. Take the best sports media person in their business, and fire him.
I don't know what spells lack of ethics or dignity, more.
Sports writers of the 50's - 60's built the love of sports, on their coverage and own backs.
they are going cheap and hiring tik toc folks and calling it journalism. See Iisha Morrison. She was on Tik Tc...famous apparently. Not my cup of tea.Sturm tells it like it really is and that isn't the money talking. Realistic and good relevant coverage. Keep the payroll monitors away from good journalism
He gets the finer details correct most of the time. Then, he ends up clueless on intermediate common knowledge stuff...Sturm tells it like it really is and that isn't the money talking. Realistic and good relevant coverage. Keep the payroll monitors away from good journalism
Invest in the Stock Market at present? What are you going to do when Social Security is bumped up in progression and Cost of Living is reduced by 20%? A year or so...maybe.He gets the finer details correct most of the time. Then, he ends up clueless on intermediate common knowledge stuff...
He wasnt bad. Just didnt care for his level of certainty on things he was dead wrong on..
I wont miss him.
Some might call that integrity and ethics also.Sturm is as good as it gets in the sports commentary business. I love reading his stuff.
He’s gone a bit off the rails recently on air and on social media on social commentary though. I doubt that had anything to do with it but getting in scraps with morons on Twitter over non-sports stuff has really been a bad look for him.
Bob Strum is a legend.Strum used to run his own site and provided great analysis. Hopefully he goes back to that.
Lulz, dude, smh.Sturm was a REAL actual ,0 bs journalist. A dying breed. The Athletic might be veering left in its reporting guys. Time will tell. He was the main reason, he and Dane Bugler, why I read the articles.
Rich Hoffman was another really good writer who covered the 76ers. Some interesting names on the cut list for sure.Apparently they laid off a few writers.

Layoffs have hit The Athletic, the sports subscription site acquired by the New York Times last year for $550 million.
The site announced internally Monday that it would be laying off almost 20 writers — approximately 4 percent of the staff — and reassigning 20 others to different beats, according to multiple reports.
So is Bob Sturm.Bob Strum is a legend.
Nothing wrong with showing appreciation for writers you likeI just cancelled my subscription. Literally the whole reason I joined. I enjoy several other writes but I have read his work since he was on Blogspot. Honestly I'm prob more loyal to Bob than to the Zone. Sorry Reality
But he's no Bob Strum. So is Bob Sturm.
Don't need encourage to unsub to anything from the New York Times.Layoffs have hit The Athletic, the sports subscription site acquired by the New York Times last year for $550 million.
