LOLDon't need encourage to unsub to anything from the New York Times.
He's a former/current Cowboy beat writer........just me, but I enjoy his articles.
BTW....was sure where to put this
You're still gonna ban that guy for following a false Messiah though, right? I mean, I know you can't say it out in the open but ....Nothing wrong with showing appreciation for writers you like
For better or worse, sign of the times. They really are pushing sports reporting going strictly by catering to Vegas odds on every thing. Take the best sports media person in their business, and fire him.
I don't know what spells lack of ethics or dignity, more.
Sports writers of the 50's - 60's built the love of sports, on their coverage and own backs.
lollololol...pot meet kettle....Ehh, never want someone to lose their job but he fell off awhile ago.
He became too consumed in wanting his stance on Dak to be right and said a lot of dumb stuff along the way
The man is a strong asset in the sport of football as well as a very responsible reporting source. With his respect and skill set, I am confident that he will find a niche or create one for himself. He's that good. Oh, smart fans all will notice his pass and follow the trail because they already have great respect for what he brings to them!Sturm is really good at the writing side of sports reporting and plenty good as play by play and analysis as well.
This was like his 3rd job after The Ticket radio and any play by play or analysis duties with the Stars and other local teams.
He loves writing as an outlet for the research he does to speak intelligently about the Cowboys.
I have noticed before that his first few articles or takes have one tone then his research will deep dive and it changes completely.
We should all be like that but very few are.
I am sure he can monetize his writing as he has a large following but it is becoming tougher and tougher to do as so many volunteer writers exist pumping out free content that sites can then pay very little to promote.
Time...slime. This fan has pride supported by morales and ethics. I don't budge an inch with 'school yard bullies'For better or worse, sign of the times.
Everyone can be a journalist or have an opinion now and get it published in some form.
No more newspapers, no more recurring Andy Rodneys or Paul Harveys, and seems like if you can’t make the leap to TV there is no long-term career.
Don't we all know that info?Bob is the ultimate NFL fan. He knows who played in every SB and who won the game. Pretty impressive. As he said the Athletic can’t afford him. He makes a fortune at The Ticket.

Should edit my own stuff. That should start, As a newspaper editor ...As a newspaper, it's sadly just the way our industry has gone. There are two things that drive the industry: advertisers and subscribers. Both are in short supply. Advertisers have found that there are other ways in the internet age to get their message out rather than having to pay for it in newspapers, news sites, radio, etc., which have increasingly smaller audiences. Subscribers are getting more of their "news" for free on the internet or through social media sites (which is scary). True journalism, where you have a reporter work to try to get to the truth, is dying. Even now, you have such small staffs that you're not able to do much beyond surface reporting. The Times is not immune to that. Some of its wounds may be self-inflicted, but it also has to cut staff to survive in a country where the accuracy of the information is no longer valued as much as it was. We live in a disinformation age, and it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Jerry Jones doesn't have any control of The Athletic.I do wonder though, what triggered the firing? I bet he wrote something a certain teams owner didn't like very much. Just an idea.
Jerry really has not ever cared about how the media is talking as long as they are talking about him and the Cowboys.. The "Dont ask Jerry hard questions" thing is way over blown..they base everything off Mickey and he does actually work for Jerry.Jerry Jones doesn't have any control of The Athletic.
You guys really build that dude up
