Bobby Carpenter has the fastest sack of the year

Especially while being untouched. It still cracks me up watching the minute-long celebration after the sack.

Better than Gurode doing an off-balance chest bump with Barber and almost killing him. Maybe they should save the jumping celebrations to the nonlinemen.

Gurode, learn from Colombo, your job isn't to jump and meet your teammate in the air, but to catch them on the way down.

Do you know why he was able to get there so quick? Becuase Julius Jones was so preoccupied with double teaming Ware that he got there too late.

Also because Carpenter faked the blitz through the first A gap and then went through the second. A straight line is always the shortest distance and Ware doesn't get the chance to get in the backfield untouched like that from his position.

It was a good call by Phillips and well-executed by Carp. Give it away too early and a blocker picks him up; time it too late and a blocker picks him up. His timing gave the linemen no time to react.

We've seen that happen before with Ware as well on the outside. Unfortunately, officials usually can't believe it and call him offside.

I'd like to see the time on the one was last year when Burnett got Flacco on the same blitz call. It seemed like Burnett had Flacco before the OL even got out of their stance.

I just thought it was funny that he celebrated with practically the whole team. I've never seen anything like it.

Geez. Some people are touchy :laugh2:

Sam Hurd celebrated with the whole team when he scored, too

That was a good play by Bobby. He's done a good job this year. He's playing better than Burnett did last year IMO.

The dude did have Hasselhoff on the ground before the play even started it seemed. If it's so easy, why hasn't Ware done it?

I haven't seen anything like that from our D in a long time. That's pressure. Our D loved seeing it.

I thought he played a lifeguard on some TV show?

Craig

It's about time Carpenter was unleashed. Mcnabb better watch out! BAM!

It's funny how everyone has an agenda. Any news story that is posted that doesn't conform exactly to their world view has to be couched in some form.

Listen, I hated the Bobby Carpenter pick, almost as much as I hate the player now. I was just doing my usual NFL reading and came across an interesting tidbit. He shot a gap and no one picked him up and he got his sack. That doesn't mean he's good. That just means he happened to get a really fast sack. Chill out people.

Bobby also has the least amount of sack on the team.

So, you've been hanging out in the locker room doing comparisons??

PLEASE tell me you don't have photographic evidence to back up your assertion...

Me? Don't be silly. What do you think Bob's around for?

Bob's my eyes and ears on the inside.

He is not however my mouth or any other orifice. Those are all his and he does with them what he chooses.

Wouldn't that require his head be up your... your...

Well, never mind...

Man, I knew he was desperate for a job, but I didn't think he was THAT desperate...

I would if I was him. People talk about this team having no passion or heart and as soon as a guy who has struggle shows some fire he is mocked for it. That 1 play is not going to make Carpenter a star or change the fact that his career in Dallas thus far has been disappointing but a guy stepped up timed the snap and made a big play when the game was still on the line. He celebrated and Brooking was right there with him celebrating right along side him

I totally agree

Who knew that Barbie Carpenter had a sack? :laugh2:
:lmao2: good one!!
I was happy to see the guy make a play, though. He's been beaten up (and rightfully so) by so many of us for so long...let's just hope he can turn his one moment in the sun into a productive season....

I'll kill both of you

I'm not a Carp fan by any means, but that was just an excellent play. He disguised it and timed it perfectly. Lot easier said than done.

According to: http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2009/11/06/between-the-lines/?tid=sbn

"Seattle's Matt Hasselback is taking plenty of sacks, and watching the Seahawks injury-ravaged line its hard not to feel sorry for him. The Cowboys' three sacks against Hasselback all took two seconds or less--Bobby Carpenter managed to tackle Hasselback in his drop back, just 1.1 seconds after the snap which is the fastest sack recorded all season."

I disagree. It took him about three years. That is pretty slow.

And people doubting Bobby Carpenter.
