While lurkn on some lions forum I found this bit of info:

Their starting LB Durant has still not passed his concussion test and might not play on Sun. His backup? Our good friend Bobby Carpenter!

Justin Durant still sidelined at Detroit Lions practice

ALLEN PARK — Linebacker Justin Durant was still a scratch at the Detroit Lions' Friday morning workout.

Durant suffered a concussion against Minnesota and hasn't been on the practice field this week. He has yet to pass the necessary tests to play against Dallas, though Detroit will update his status this afternoon.

Bobby Carpenter -- who was a first-round draft pick of the Cowboys in 2006 -- is the likely candidate to replace Durant.

Still, the loss of the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Durant, who is the Lions' leading tackler, would be a blow to the defense.

The only other players sidelined Friday were rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley (foot), offensive tackle Jason Fox (foot) and Rashied Davis (leg).
What is really interesting is to read the thoughts of the lions fans on this....

I don't think the drop-off from Durant to Carpenter is all that steep, if it exists at all.

Carpenter played light out for us last year. That's all that matters.

Bobby Carpenter is a step away from selling insurance. If he was good he would not have been on the street for so long so many times.

although he did play well in the lions 4 game winning streak at the end of last year, and played very well in preseason ( which i know you don't count). He made the team of one of the hottest teams in the nfl. There may be a drop off of talent, but i don't think it hurts the lions this week. Plus: I believe Carpenter has something to prove to dallas.

If he really plays... We better not abandon the run.

not really :D

So you're saying he'll have his on Folk-like redemption moment?

Any posts about how he'll play a former team and it'll light a fire and he will play at hall of fame levels?

Even if he did, he's the one player who I think still wouldn't cause any rue. ;)

I'm sure it's still to come.

In all seriousness...Detroit is the type of defense where he can thrive. A big, tough front 4 to eat up lineman will allow him to just run and make plays. He's not physical enough to play MLB in a 34, but that defense might allow him to use his speed and athleticism, which I thought he did pretty well in Dallas.

I kind of feel bad for Lions fans. Norm was saying earlier today to imagine our team the past 10 years, last year would have been our best year. He said the Lions are averaging 4-12 each season, that's bad!

Holy hell...run right at Goldylocks. I was already feeling good about the running game before this news.

Hopefully the rejuvenated all pro Carpenter will play angry vs his old team with a chip that turns into 8 tackles, 2 FF, 1INT and a blocked kick

There we go.

Man...you go from Suh in the front line to...Carpenter behind him. That's like stocking horse manure behind ice cream.

Watch this guy have the game of his life.

I predict he will lead in tackles. And pick off the game winning pass from Romo.

Throw in a fumble/ and recovery in there.
