Naturally, no one could have been more disappointed in not seeing Carp early on...but the considerations given were, in no particular order:
Learning the move to the inside, along with some DE
Having some early recognition problems
Ellis stepped up more than anyone could have expected
This was all good and well, I still never figured why I didn't see him on special teams, though I can't be certain whether he excelled at ST play at OSU, somehow I doubt it.
Seeing him play for so long, I felt comfortable enough to make this statement in a discussion on AJ Hawk and the OSU/Notre Dame game:
"AJ's a tough hombre, but you're all missing out on seeing Bobby Carpenter, who arguably would make a better NFL LB."

Now this afforded me to allow a longer leash as far as to what the coaches may be doing with him at the time, but to be fair, I had seen him play nearly every week for quite awhile, while most didn't.
There are alot of times when someone doesn't see what they want to see, or feel the need to see, and will knee jerk into a full blown bust mode, as several threads this past season has suggested.
I'm hoping these examples of Romo and Carpenter can show things can get done beyond the ever seeing eye of the average fan...staving off senseless debate and hate...but I doubt it.
