You watch, Bobby Carpenter will finally get his shot, and will become a better overall player than his buddy and former teammate at OSU, A.J. Hawk. That's my prediction.

Who's comin' with me? :eek:hboy:

That would be nice... but at the moment I still have little confidence in Bobby

Pfft...neither one has lived up to expectations for sure. Bobby gets destroyed, and for good reason but Hawk has been very very average as basically a starter from the second he stepped in. They wanted to make him the next Urlacher sooo bad. So far i'd argue he just may be a bigger flop than Carpenter so far...he's kinda forgotten a little now. If he did anything worthwhile when he first stepped into the league, it was like he was Dick Butkus. He just is an average linebacker. Nobody really ever talked about Carpenter outside of Ohio and Texas, and still don't obviously.

May I add that Carpenter would IMO be way better suited in a 4-3 defense and when he can find that opportunity I do think he can and will be a pretty solid football player.

Man, those silver and blue colored shades are going to hurt your eyes when you finally have to take them off.

**** it. I'm with you. But only because I want to see how much weight this tiny limb will hold. 'Cause it's gonna break.

I don't know about that, the Grand Canyon is quite deep. :laugh2:

I think this might be Bobby Carpenter's break out year. Do I think he'll play lights out? Absolutely not. But I think he'll go a long way in removing the bust tag.

He's pretty sure you're....well you know.:laugh2:

AJ has been a disapointment no doubt considering the rep he had coming in. I think its clear now that the combination of those two playing together was a case of the sum being worth a lot more then the individual parts were.

Odd, I guess I"ve been out of the loop on him. I know he had a pretty good rookie year, but look back at his stats his numbers have been dropping each year.

....another conspiracy thread....this time on Carps "rebirth".......take it to the political folder.......

Is this the last year of his contract? If so, figures that he would finally have a good season. Doubt we will resign him either way.

Worse part is I think a great many fans wish he would fail.

I'm glad there is some positive talk about bobby this season. Hopefully He gets it and steps up. it would suck to have wasted that draft pick and get a barbie in return.

If I recall there was positive talk about him in last years camp but nothing seem to come out of it once the games started. Although I think he had one bad pre-season game that soured the coaches on him.

Wade Admitted that he took the bad game Barbie had to heart and never really considered playing him after that. He said that was a mistake he would not make again. That you need to give a guy a chance to show what he can do in the real games. I wish he would try that with Free; we need to see if this kid can play for real.

A few solid practices and--presto!--three lackluster years go down the memory hole. Amazing.

Just wait 'til Thursday. After he's swallowed whole by lead blockers and allowing Michael Bush to gash us up the middle with ease, the bandwagon will scatter. Again.

In the words of the immortal Marty B, "Bobby's not A.J. Hawk, though. I wish he was."
