Our team is getting very close. The pieces are coming together. Jerry is making moves like it is the early 90’s.

Jerry make the BIG move!!

Find a way to sign Bobby Wagner. Hopefully, Wagner will see what we are building here, along with a call from Micah AND decide to come to Dallas!!! Maybe Wagner will give us a bit of a discount.

I like the way LVE played last year, but Wagner would be a SOLID upgrade at MLB. Our LBer core with Wagner, LVE, and Clark would improve vs the pass and the run. Who knows, LBer could become the strength of the defense! That would be saying something.

Of course it is important to still pickup a big run stuffing DT or 2. Resigning Hankins would be a very good move if the price is doable.

Also, signing LVE should not stop us from signing Wagner. LVE signed a very team friendly deal. We do not have very much money put into the LBer position right now.

Huh? Charles and Wagner can in no way have the same impact-

They won’t do it. Too dumb to be aggressive. Hell give him 1 year big deal - try and win this thing

Explain how you fit that under the salary cap. Do you propose we restructure more contracts? We’ve already restructured Tank, Tyron, Dak, Gallup and Martin.

Easiest way to open up space is signing Pollard long term but I’d avoid doing that.

I know there are dozens of Wagner threads here, but we should face the reality that unless his price drastically drops its very unlikely he will sign here. Sure it would be a big signing, but let's not get our hopes up.

The LVE signing was likely done because the Wagner deal seemed unlikely. They also play the same position.

Bobby Wagner is the most overrated free agent on this forum. I’d rather have the youngster Clark on the field. Faster and more athletic than a 32 year old Wagner.

Very true. Wagner would be a Barr replacement here and I’m not sure he has the speed to really be effective on the outside anymore. And LVE is terrible playing outside so you can’t move him.

It’s not a perfect fit but his leadership and play making ability would definitely help some at least.

His market value is just under 10M. What's he asking for? The Cowboys can fit him under the cap. I just don't know why people are that interested in him. He is not the same player he used to be. He's a solid LB and rarely injured. That's his upside.

Looks like we’re actually 24 million under the cap. Zeke savings haven’t been counted yet. Large 1 year deal for B-Wagz is doable. If he still has some speed I’d sign him asap.

Let's review facts again:

-Base defense in today's NFL are 4-2-5. Two linebackers is all.
-We have LVE, Kearse, Clarke and Cox ready to roll. Micah will play some there. No real need at all.
-Priority #1 in today's NFL is pass defense--same for LB. Wagner has lost a step.
-Linebackers aren't prized commodities in today's NFL--a bit like RBs in that way
-We've had two high impact moves. Not gonna see a third

Agree that Dallas will not offer a large multi-year deal to Wagner. But if he’s cool with a 1 year rental, Dallas could offer a decent chunk.

This is all Stephen. Jerry just gives the final thumbs up or thumbs down. Literally just a figure head who talks WAY to much.

Stephen deserves the credit or blame and has for a long time. It's his show now.

Nice thought, but I can't imagine then going that route after re-signing LVE.
