It is a step for UH.. I have concerns about Big East viability, as well, but C-USA is such a go-nowhere conference. Not enough good teams in either basketball or football.

UH is undefeated and the only teams they've beaten of note is UCLA and Georgia State. They're ranked so that's a good thing.

Sorry, I come from a different era. Cougar high isn't meant as a compliment.

Big 12 doesn't need UH, but UH needs the Big 12 or the Big East. It's better than wallowing in the C-USA.

btw... there is one of Lufkin's finest on the bottom right...

I do need to make sure something is understood.

I would like to see teams like UH and Boise State get chances to be in a league that allows them to play in BCS games. Which is why I think it would suck for a team like UH to get an invite to a conference only to see the conference change radically this year or next and possibly find itself in a situation where they are no longer in a conference that is AQC/BCS.

This whole BCS and college conference stuff is really nothing more than a money thing and it is a shame that some teams get left out in the cold because they don't have this or that when instead it should be based on the product they put on the field and should have a chance to go toe to toe with teams.

Here is what I have been hearing.

WVU could be going to the SEC. It could wind up being Missouri, WV and a team from the ACC (FSU or VT). Now this is what I heard for a good amount of time but there are some things that are changing and it could be the following...

WVU, UL and possibly Cincy to the Big XII

Now again this does not mean this year, could be next year.

Have also heard that UCONN and Rutgers are in play possibly the ACC and Rutgets possibly the Big10

So there is a possibility of 5 teams in the big east leaving along with Pitt and Syracuse which would make it 7.

If some of this happens I kind of feel bad for the teams the Big East are trying to get to come in because I think they are being fooled to a degree. I think some of these big east teams that might leave or just waiting to try and help the big east get these other teams in so they don't lose the AQC/BCS status. Because as it stands if the big east falls below 6 football teams they lose conference status for the football side of things.

If they do leave, this year or next, I think you will find that for the most part it will not be much better than the proposed Conf USA/MW conference depending on if Boise State and the service academies stay or leave...they are waiting to see how some of this pans out.

So I guess I don't get a :D and instead get a :eek::

I should explain the :eek::

I think the Big XII is a very good Football Conference, just not as good as the SEC. However they are far superior to the SEC as a Basketball Conference IMO.
The problem as a WVU fan is travel distances for the games.

The ACC would be the best natural fit for WVU as they would have old rivalries and the travel would be decent. The SEC would be a little closer and again the best Football conference.

The other problem I worry about with the Big XII is long term stability.

You forgot the other part where you need to be certain that all of your troubled players from WVU get paid properly and are not to severely punished for transgressions throughout the football season. Only non-conference game suspensions allowed.

Drugs don't count

Payment infractions should not count

You can only get that in the SEC ;)
