Read somewhere that Jenkins said he had bone spurs in both ankles. I need someone med savvy to tell me what that means. Should he have them removed and if so, what is the timetable?

"A bone spur (osteophyte) is a bony growth formed on normal bone. Most people think of something sharp when they think of a "spur," but a bone spur is just extra bone. It’s usually smooth, but it can cause wear and tear or pain if it presses or rubs on other bones or soft tissues such as ligaments, tendons, or nerves in the body. Common places for bone spurs include the spine, shoulders, hands, hips, knees, and feet."

They are abnormal bone growth that form as the body starts producing more calcium in injured areas as the body attempts to treat the injury. It procedure to remove them in fairly simple and recovery normally does not take long

I had one where the achilles meets the heel. At times it was fine other times it felt as if someone was stabbing me in the achilles.

I have several and they are annoying but not debilitating -- I had one in my heel break off and that was very painful for about a seek
