Ok, long time reader, I think this might be my FIRST thread. SO here goes.

Every week we've endured the Book It (not the pizza prize the kids do in school) or the 3 inch headlines or the on record or the guarantees. But NOTHING is ever put up. Anyone can do that. What I want to see is, those who TRULY feel without a shadow of a doubt we will win, put up!

We win or ..... I'll donate money to the Zone..... donate money to an organization .... Send money to DJ Majestik (ok, I tried).

Seriously, go on record and put up if you're wrong.

And for the record, I have NEVER booked it but twice in my entire life. Once, when my ex-wife was pregnant I guaranteed we'd have a child. Lo and behold...... The other was my second marriage (wrong on that one)!

So let's hear it. Let's see what you're made of.

:D

I think we will win. I think this team will wake up with a different attitude later in the week.

I think we matchup really well with philly.

We match up well...

But our QB will either fumble or pick 6 our Playoff hopes away.

I hope we win. I have to be honest with you, if you made me put my paycheck up one way or the other, and I had to make a choice, given this team's history in these type of games, I'd say we lose. Eagles in Philly, cold weather, big game.....

All I can do is hope against hope that this team finds whatever it is seems to be missing, and pulls off the big win.

Our QB is the only reason I have any hope for this game. Without Romo, we would most certainly lose.

This is what I was getting at with this thread. For all you WE WILL WIN folks (not named Nick) how many would SERIOUSLY put up, like Wrangler said, a paycheck guaranteeing a victory.

I think there would be far less than what I have seen EACH AND EVERY week. Do I think we will win. I don't have a good feeling with this team. But I will be rooting HARD for them come Sunday (now at 4:15, )

So I don't see ANYONE yet willing to put up for a guaranteed victory!

So far, so good :star: :star: :star:

Believe me.... I know.

We ride and die with Romo.

You just never know when he will make a good decision or be careless.

Why would anyone, for any reason, put their entire paycheck up on a game? No matter how good they feel about something? That's just plain stupid. Should a person honestly risk not being able to pay some of their bills, or get their Christmas shopping done, just so you can say "Oh wow they really do believe."

If someone came up with some reasonable terms for a bet of some kind I'd absolutely bet on Dallas to win. But I don't care if this were the 1992-1995 team I wouldn't be putting my entire paycheck on them, ever. That's just stupid.

x 2 Wrangler.... I want us to win this one badly but if I had to put money on it, I wouldn't do it!

My expectations are low but my hopes are high...

Go Cowboys!

Hey, doesn't Romo actually have a better win percentage in road games?

Ok, the original intent was never for you to not afford to feed your kids. It was two fold, to see how many people would really PUT up when guaranteeing a win (I see so many guarantees) and to know how much it is worth to you to PROVE your guarantee (iow, putting up $5 doesn't give me a lot of confidence in your guarantee, but Wrangler's talk of a paycheck would certainly give me hope you are sincere.

But I guess then the question, you said reasonable terms, what would those reasonable terms mean to you? $50, $5 ?????

I guess you're safe with that bet then!

I don't see a lot of takers. Hope is one thing. I LOVE seeing Boys fans with hope and optimism, but I just see way too many "Book It" threads each and every week with nothing to lose if you fail. Book it should mean something. Guarantees should mean something.

Now I KNOW we can't guarantee a victory, but if someone is going to use such a clear cut term, they should be willing to lose something IF they are wrong. No?

Another thing. You would not risk your paycheck, and that is fine. But you're not GUARANTEEING A victory are you?

Code:
guar·an·tee (grn-t)
n.
1. Something that assures a particular outcome or condition:

To me if you say, I GUARANTEE a victory, there is no way you would be losing that bet now would you? At least based on the definition of the word!

I will book it that I'll be nervous throughout the game.

we all will.

and if this game plays out in a similar manner as this season.

It will probably come down to the 4th qtr and what mcnabb does when he has the ball and what romo does when he has the ball.

I am confident.

I quit betting a long time ago but even if I were still betting I would not bet for or against this team. They're wayyy too inconsistent for me.

I plan on watching and enjoying this game with no expectations either way and just let it unfold as it will and accept whatever comes without getting upset about a game I'm not playing in and have no influence over.

Besides, it doesn't matter so much what the players do, it matters more how the refs call it and what their agenda is.

Been there,
done that,
didn't like it,
ain't goin' back.

You can do what you wanna.
It's your business.
