Booker: we got a football player

So Sanders beats out Dak for the starting job or Dak goes down in pre-season. You think Sanders plays ahead of Milton and gets us to the NFC Championship? Really? And you wouldn't be on here criticizing that we didn't get to the Superbowl? None of those outcomes seem likely,
Dak ain’t playing 17 games again.

He’s broken.

You don’t know what offers they got. You only have Jerry’s word for it. Jerry does not have to sit there and wait for a call. He could have made some calls himself
lol. You’re one who said “they could have traded back and drafted Hampton”

I simply asked how that could be achieved and I used actual information from last nights draft to provide you with some information to help you explain your position.

If you are going to complain and make a casual “it’s so easy” type of comment, you should attempt to show how.

I’d actually take Sanders if he slides to us

For one it puts Pressue on Dak to perform, you want your job here? Put up mvp numbers like you have in the past and win playoff games because the guy behind you has a “I’m better than you and will let the world know” kinda attitude

For two idc about the hype, controversy and whatever else he brings it’s the Dallas Cowboys it’s already there and even if it isn’t the media will make up something anyways it’s a year long circus here anyways

So? That doesn't make Sanders a difference maker capable of getting us to the NFCC.
How do you know?

We know from a decades worth of data that Dak ain’t the guy.

You don’t know that Sanders isn’t.

Sanders is the unknown. Dak is a known loser with a decades worth of evidence.

You scared of the unknown, bro?

And Nolan, while a great talent, has some red flags on the character/effort side of things. There were rumors that he had bad practice habits.

Per Albert Breer

“Two of the more fascinating prospects this year are Ole Miss DT Walter Nolen and Tennessee DE James Pearce Jr. Both have faced character questions. Nolen’s practice habits and sense of entitlement have been questioned, while Pearce is seen as a bit edgy, and had a reputation for being divisive in college.

It could have been a tiebreaker for the Cowboys.
right. and we all know had they gone with nolen, and if any of those things played out as a pro. this fan base would have been furious. "we all knew he had red flags. of course dallas takes this idiot" etc.

Every season is unknown. Lol. Yes we have all seen Dak and everyone else fail. But why Sanders then? Why not Milroe or Howard or fill in the blank?

Anybody. But. Dak.

I don’t care who it is. I welcome the unknown over the known loser.
They are all losers at this point. So you need more than a QB. Better off taking Booker at 12 than any QB that was available. Or would you rather take a QB in every round until you find one who gets us to the NFCC?

I almost wonder if there plan is to move Tyler Smith to LT where Guyton struggled. Maybe move Guyton as the swing tackle because everyone knew he was a project when we drafted him last year. If Steele ends up sucking again have Guyton take over.

I didn't think Brock Hoffman played bad at the guard position to warrant taking a guard at 12. Our offensive line got better once he played when Martin went down.

From Chatgpt:

In the 2024 NFL season, Brock Hoffman served as a versatile interior lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, stepping in at right guard following Zack Martin's injury and also making appearances at center. Here's a detailed breakdown of his performance and rankings:

PFF Grades and Rankings (2024 Season)

  • Overall Grade: 66.3 (Ranked 44th out of 136 qualifying guards)
  • Run-Blocking Grade: 68.9 (39th/136)
  • Pass-Blocking Grade: 62.1 (69th/136)PFF+2PFF+2PFF+2

These grades position Hoffman as an average to slightly above-average guard overall, with his run-blocking being a relative strength compared to his pass protection. PFF

Positional Breakdown

  • Snaps at Right Guard: 387 (18th most among all guards)
  • Snaps at Center: 109
  • Snaps at Left Guard: 19PFF

Hoffman primarily played at right guard, especially after Martin's season-ending injury, but his ability to fill in at center and left guard showcases his versatility on the offensive line. Dallas Cowboys+1SI+1

Performance Highlights

  • Thanksgiving Game Performance: In the Cowboys' Thanksgiving game, Hoffman earned a 76.8 overall grade (6th among all offensive linemen that day), with an 87.6 pass-blocking grade (2nd) and allowed zero pressures. PFF+2SI+2Log in or sign up to view+2

Contextual Analysis

Hoffman's 2024 season marked a significant step forward in his development. Transitioning from a backup role, he demonstrated the ability to handle starting responsibilities, particularly at right guard. His performance in run-blocking situations was solid, and while his pass protection had room for improvement, the low number of pressures and sacks allowed indicates a reliable presence on the line.

His standout performance on Thanksgiving highlighted his potential to excel under pressure, and his versatility in playing multiple interior line positions adds valuable depth to the Cowboys' offensive front.

They forced their own hands now. That’s my issue. This team is constantly getting in its own way.

Guard wasn’t a need. This team was anemic on offense regardless of the line. They couldn’t score points. Instead of using a pick on golden or Hampton they went guard and are praying there is no run on RBs before they pick next? This team has 0 plan. Other than stay relevant.
This is a very deep draft at RB. There are guys who can help scattered throughout each round.

There are also trades and fa pickups we can make.

There are no hands forced at all when you have 8 legit needs.

I don’t like guard at 12 but this draft seems to have a lot of big NT’s. May have influenced the decision

we are gatgering up all the Tylers on the offensive line. Is there another tackler and center named tyler in this draft or free agency?

We wont know for years who would have been the best pick. Regardless of what any of us experts think. I'm on record saying I didn't want to pick O-line in any round. But I knew it was coming. And it doesn't ,make Booker a bad player.
I’ve never said he was a bad player.

I said he wasn’t a need.

I guess he expected us to draft 12 players with one pick. Some on here, we all know who, would complain no matter who the pick was.
No. I expected us to not set ourselves up to have to now draft a RB and WR with our next two picks and telegraph exactly what we have to do.

I also expected us to not count on players being there in the second round because we drafted a player we really didn’t need in the first.

If this team has filled the RB and WR holes in FA this pick makes sense.

They didn’t.
