As a TCU fan and clearly they have lost a step with all the players they lost to graduation / NFL draft. They just aren't the same team they were.

My second team, the Longhorns don't have much of a chance to move back up into contention. So, since Bosie State was pulling for TCU to win the Rose Bowl, this year I'm going to pull for Bosie State to upset everyone and win the NCAA Championship this year.

For them to do this, they will definitely have to get some help. They've already beaten one of the two ranked teams they play. (Georgia) The other being TCU. Can't pull for them in that game, but if they do win it. Neither Georgia nor TCU (as of now / when played) where ranked above #19 though. Lots of help.

btw, what in hell is it that the #3 ranked team plays North Texas? They aren't even in the same conference and North Texas sucks. I think good teams playing really bad teams like that should take huge negatives to their rankings. What was a completely worthless game to play. I mean if NT was a conference team, okay. They aren't. Why in hell were they even on the schedule?

I'm from Idaho. Boise St. fan! Thanks for the support. A lot respect between our two programs. Two great bowl games and hopefully a great one coming up! I will be in the South End Zone for that game. Any rumors on what TCU does if the Big East collapses? I would love to see TCU and Boise back together again in a revamped Big XII, MWC or whatever. Best of luck (except when you travel to Boise)!

I would not dismiss Texas currently up to 19 in the polls

I remember when Boise was going to play Oklahoma and George Mason, coming off of their NCAAB tourney run took out a full ad in the Idaho Statesman to wish Boise well.

I think this kind of camaraderie is pretty cool amongst the little teams who step their game up and take on the bigger powerhouses.

If any one of LSU, Alabama, Boise State, Stanford, or Wisconsin win out. They have no shot. I do not list OU and Oklahoma State as Texas has to play both. So, if they lose to them it's just that much more over for Texas.

Besides. I don't think are close to being the best. I still see problems in their game.

I think Boise is still a top 3 team because of Kellen Moore.

I think the whole switching conference crap sucks.

Actually, I think the entire conference stuff sucks. Most of it is only power plays and those that aren't in the right groups, get screwed. It's like freaking politics. When they re-zone, they are stacking the deck even more against their opponents.

I think they should bury the conferences and just create divisions. Teams are dropped into their divisions and have no choice but to play there or be ineligible to play NCAA games.

Winners of the divisions go to playoffs. Toss the BCS out on it's ***.

You'd have the same arguments though because a team from the Southeast would have a significantly harder time getting to the playoffs.

Then again, I guess when you get all the star recruits it kind of evens out so lets go for it.

Right now not even concerned about the National Championship just trying to win the Big 12. if you do that your at least in the running. We will see.

It wouldn't matter. There is only 1 best team. If you can't get out of the Southeast division, then you weren't good enough to win the Championship anyhow right?

Right now I only hear that TCU, like most other teams not entrenched or recently relocated, is scrambling. Probably plenty of brainstorming, contingency planning, flurry of phone calls, etc going on in board rooms.

I am not a Boise State fan, but I am a fan of that football coach. What a program he is building and his loyalty to it is not heralded enough IMO.

I too, want them to win it all so the BCU gets blown up.

The aggravating thing for a Boise St. fan is that we are told we don't belong in a BCS conference, not because of our football team, but because Boise is not a large town, the university is too young, and the other sports are not as strong. I completely understand the reality of the situation, but I also think it is unfair that the football team is being punished for things far beyond their control.

I just read now on ESPN (sorry no time to post the source, still at work) that the Big XII schools and the Big East schools that will likely be left out of expansion are exploring the option of merging the conferences. I wonder if the top of the MWC and the Conf. USA would be allowed to get in on that.

Peterson is a total class act. Last winter local sports radio reported that both Florida and Stanford were very interested in his services and all he required to stay at Boise was an assurance from the administration that they were committed to building the program. Boise is lucky to have him.

Will Georgia be ranked by the end of the season? That win by Boise State at the start of the year can be overlooked by some of the voters if Georgia goes on to lose 2 or 3 more games this year. It is not where you start, it is where you end up and right now Georgia is unranked. Georgia will have to keep winning games in order to help out Boise State.

Everything I have heard suggests that Peterson will be at Boise for LONG time.

Apparently he's not interested in other positions because he wants stability for his family more than he wants the additional money. The money he already makes is pretty big time for Boise and the volatility of taking on a new program just isn't worth the extra cash when you could be out of a job in a couple of years if you don't produce.

He's practically untouchable in Boise right now.

He's got a pretty sweet gig. Boise's a pretty cool place. Big enough to be able to make a name for itself yet small enough to fly under the radar in terms of nation-wide media scrutiny.

They've got some plans for that stadium that should help the program grow. I'm pretty sure they're talking about closing in the riverside end, excavating the field, erasing the track that circles it (they have a new site in the works for track an field) and dropping the field by some number of feet to add more seating.

Should be pretty sweet by the time it's all said and done.

the biggest problem will be the turn stile of coordinators going through there, most people will go there to make a name for themselves and jump to a bigger program that pays more
