As a TCU fan and clearly they have lost a step with all the players they lost to graduation / NFL draft. They just aren't the same team they were.

My second team, the Longhorns don't have much of a chance to move back up into contention. So, since Bosie State was pulling for TCU to win the Rose Bowl, this year I'm going to pull for Bosie State to upset everyone and win the NCAA Championship this year.
I'd love to see that too, but let the record show that Boise State doesn't need to upset anyone. Their path from here to January is chock full of games they should win. Of course, the same thing was true last year until they bumped into the Nevada Wolfpack.

What they need is every other team in the nation to lose at least 1 game.

btw, what in hell is it that the #3 ranked team plays North Texas? They aren't even in the same conference and North Texas sucks. I think good teams playing really bad teams like that should take huge negatives to their rankings. What was a completely worthless game to play. I mean if NT was a conference team, okay. They aren't. Why in hell were they even on the schedule?

You can't punish them for scheduling a cupcake team, when the Biose States and TCUs play in a cupcake conference. At the end of the year, despite playing North Texas, Alabama's schedule will still rank near the top due to playing a tough opponent every week.

Boise will still rank near the bottom because of their week conference

Actually, I think the entire conference stuff sucks. Most of it is only power plays and those that aren't in the right groups, get screwed. It's like freaking politics. When they re-zone, they are stacking the deck even more against their opponents.

I think they should bury the conferences and just create divisions. Teams are dropped into their divisions and have no choice but to play there or be ineligible to play NCAA games.

Winners of the divisions go to playoffs. Toss the BCS out on it's ***.

zero chance of happening. too much money (which equals power) in these large conferences. if the NCAA decisdes to do this, what stops the Pac 12, Big 10, SEC and ACC from saying, "we'll form our own league and split the money among ourselves?"

Bad teams like North Texas do that because they get a percentage of the gate. They're basically trading getting destroyed -- which they know will happen -- for money so they can build up their program long term.

True it also helps when a team like North Texas when it gets carried on a major network in terms of recruiting.

I am a huge Boise State fan. To me, year in and year out they are the best coached team in football. They are what I hope Syracuse becomes one day, mainly because SU fans were told for years that they simply cannot compete due to location.

I'm borderline outraged by the NCAA with the violations and claiming that they may have a lack of institutional control....yet, they won't say that Ohio State has a lack of institutional control. It's blatantly obvious that the NCAA is a complete and utter sham of an association.
