Boston Celtics Dynasty

You have been a member of this forum for 4 years ..... never once mentioned the Celtics till they traded for a bunch of stars.

You tried to gloat about your new "favorite team" just like you did about the Pats.

I congratulated the real Celtics fans ..... they deserved the championship.

You are not one.

You are wrong again - they won 2o something games. What was there to talk about? lol

But over years I always have taken sons to a game or two at the Garden. As a 25 year season ticket holder since childhood at Uconn. I'm maybe the biggest Ray Allen fan in the world.

He deserve's that ring as he got game against Detroit and LA, and played defense the likes of which I didn't think he was capable of. They wanted it more than the Lakers.

I think they are going to feel a need to want a repeat. To cement their places on Boston Basketball Lore.

Paul Pierce elevated his status in the game immeasurably this run.

looks like we both lost on the corey maggette sweepstakes because of elton brand! now it looks like we are up against each other for posey

I see Posey in Boston again, if not a big loss

One of the many reason I hate Fratello. He ran Posey out of Memphis.

The Celtics are free to do whatever it takes to keep the momentum going... Their owners were not adverse to paying the luxury tax unlike a guy like Micky Arison of the Miami Heat. Boston can have continued success and could care less about some wording such as dynasty...

All they need to do is look into the rafters and see 17 banners which says it all.

Apparently, it wasn't enough for greedy guys like Maggette =]

good luck getting jermain o'neal to stay healthy a full season
He'll be healthy this year. He's 100%, he was injured the last few years because he came back to early from the surgery on his knee. Than this season he sat out as a "career move", The Pacers weren't going anywhere so he sat out for 43 games, came back the last 10 to see how his knee was and then continued working out.

He's been playing ball and working out since the beginning of April and has had no swelling, no pain, no nothing.

MARK THIS DOWN, I will never post here again if Jermaine O'Neal plays less than 70 games this season.

My East standings next season.

1. Orlando
2. Detroit
3. Boston
4. Toronto
5. Philadelphia
6. Cleveland
7. Chicago
8. Washington

The Atlantic division will be the best division in the NBA in I don't know how many years. You could have THREE 50 win teams(Assuming Boston is still hungry, O'Neal is healthy and Brand fits in Phillys system) in the division.

He is the perfect role player. He is tough and plays great D, and creates mismatches and is a clutch 3 point shooter.

My Moles In Pierces basketball camp this week say Celts are making strong play to keep him here.

and the spurs signed mason out of washington with so they have less money to offer now, unless someone comes out of nowhere and offers him a bigger than the MLE contract i dont see him going anywhere.

Rumor has it he felt disgusted by Boston's initial offer and will be signing with the Hornets. Now, THAT would be a huge addition to their rotation since they currently have defense-less Peja at the 3. Posey can come off the bench for Peja, play his 6th man role, and d up the other team's best guy, while still hitting 3 point shots for Chris Paul. If true, New Orleans will win the West next year (barring any injuries) which cringes me to say because they knocked my beloved Mavericks out of the post season this year.

Everyone in the West is playing for second place now that my Grizz have signed Marc Gasol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh who am I kidding. It's lottery time for us again. :(

They have the 1st.

Say The Big 3 wins another 2-3 would they be considered a Dynasty? If they can do that they are at Par or > 80's Celtics - jmo.

Garnett and Pierce have at least another 3-4 years left and Ray Allen is so cagy and a pure shooter that I can see him still playinh well a few more years.

With 22 year old Point guard Rajon Rondo emerging into an All Star this team could make a run.

I think that if they do that, they could be considered a dynasty team. However, I don't believe they will be able to do that. As was mentioned before, LA is coming and if Bynum comes back strong, I don't believe the Celtics have the strength to beat them. As far as "On Par or greater" then the 80s Celts, I would probably not rate them there either. They just are not as good because nobody on that team is as good as Bird was and they are not nearly as deep as those 80s teams. Those 80s teams were the second best team I have ever seen. Better then the 90s Bulls IMO. Just there misfortune to be playing as such a high level when the Lakers were also loaded. Those 80s Celtics remind me of the 70s Cowboys teams. Great, great team that just happened to share time with a team that was slightly better IMO.

Text size – + Nothing new with Posey

The agent for Celtics forward James Posey, Mark Bartelstein, said early Thursday evening that there was "nothing new" in regards to his client's free-agency situation.

The teams interested in Posey include the Celtics, Cavaliers, Hornets, Pistons and Lakers. While returning to the champion Celtics is definitely a major draw, Posey is also a Cleveland native who expressed disappointment earlier this year about the Cavaliers not pursuing him last offseason.

Other Celtics free agents include guards Eddie House, Sam Cassell and Tony Allen, forward-center P.J. Brown (who is expected to retire) and center Scot Pollard.

Posey has yet to talk publicly about his free agency situation. But Posey and Celtics teammates House, 2008 NBA Finals MVP Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Nors, and Leon Powe are all scheduled to be on hand Monday night for the screening of Warner Home Video’s "2007-2008 NBA Champions: The Boston Celtics DVD." The DVD will be in stores July 15.
