Bottomline - Dak throwing 30+ pass attempts

Everyone has seen the stats. Dak throws 30+ times, you only get a 50/50 shot at winning. You may get some great 4th quarter comebacks, or some great stats that any QB would hope for, but if Dak throws less than 30, you’re almost guaranteed to win.

I don’t care how much he’s paid, I don’t care what other quarterbacks do, I don’t care what happened to cause the interception, I don’t care about top 10 QB arguments, I just know that our team wins when it happens.

There’s no shame in it. It’s not a knock on Dak. Elway never won anything until he had Terrell Davis. Aikman followed a similar model with Emmitt. The Seahawks lost their Super Bowl when they passed instead of ran. The list goes on and on.

It’s a team game, do what makes the team win.

The Texans have the worst rush defense in the league and we came out passing - I don't know what to say about that game plan other than What in the crap are you thinking Kellen - pound the rock!!

Agreed. Not a good sign when we see that number of passes. Stats only tell half the story and don’t give much detail on the flow of the game. Still though, more running usually is a sign the team played well.

ive been saying this for years but people think since hes paid so much he should throw it 40 times a game fpr 350 yards and 4 tds no ints instead of having balance which has won us 10 games

Once again the run/pass ratio got all wonky in a game. Once again, the Cowboys struggled and had to pull one out at the end.

I just don't understand what Big Mike and Kellen are thinking.

Hell, we threw on the first 4 or 5 plays of the game. RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!!!!!!!!!

Moore is awful, but he redeemed himself on the final play by spreading them out and running the ball!!!

And to add to your post, there's no Qb putting up those statistics

I remember first 4 plays being all passes. Then started running and that was when Zeke & Pollard has some of their best runs of the game.

All the more reason to limit the passing to 30. Zeke seems to be on fire again, Pollard is the best playmaker on the offense. One is paid too much, the other is a free agent next year. We risk blowing what we have.

Hopefully they can overcome Steele’s injury, we’re lucky Tyron is coming back.

The game plan yesterday was atrocious. Argurably one of the worst if not they worst rush defense in the league. Absolutely no reason not to pound the rock all game.

Dak shouldn't have to throw more than 20-25 times yesterday.

the problem is, I don;t think its about Dak throwing, its whether or not our running game is working or not that game, or whether we are 2 scores behind.
you can't run on a third and seven and expect to convert third downs. you have to pass.

I agree that it’s forced sometimes but I would also argue that they get themselves in that situation sometimes with the passing. And that’s fine if the running game is facing resistance and Dak has to throw. That’s the whole point. Make them key in on the run, and then unleash Dak. But if you just unleash Dak and let him throw all day, you’re going to get some games like the Tampa opener last year where you thought he might have turned the corner, and then you’re going to get “come back to Earth” games. He’s a not a horrible QB, he is one of the better ones in the League, but we have 4 first round picks on that line or at RB. This team is still built to run.

We did pound the rock on the first drive but then for some reason we starting passing. I'm like, "why are we not running the ball". C'mon Kellen. Run the stinkin ball.....please.

7 passes on the final drive.

1 drive where they had all runs and turned it over on downs. They really needed that last one to be a play action.

Yea, this is kind of common sense.

The more the QB has to throw, the less likely the run game is working and/or the defense is giving
up points and you’re playing behind.
