This, of course, begs several questions.
How could you tell if there was gum on this?
Was the kid simply making an artistic expression of his own?
And, most importantly:
Who would pay $1.5 mil for this uninspired mish-mash?
Exactly!!!TruBlueCowboy said:Christ almighty... is that really what it looks like?
Well hell, all of you who have been calling the kid a punk have gotten it all wrong. What we have here is a bonafide art critic.
You think a painting like that deserves to be sold for $1.5 million? As far as I'm concerned, sticking a wad of chewing gum was done only because he couldn't pull down his trousers and let the museum know what he really felt about this "art."
WV Cowboy said:I guess at 12 one would expect the kid to know better, not sure I did at 12, but why would the museum allow children that close of access to something that expensive ?
What if someone sneezed on the painting ?
This is partly the museums fault for not protecting it better. JMO
Hey Hoov, wanna see something REALLY funny ?Hoov said:Kids do all kinds of stupid things like that, they have poor impulse control. i agree that the museum should have protected the paintings better. still the kid should be disciplined, but if a bunch of 12 year olds were coming over to my house i would immediately think about what i care about that could get damaged and take measures. Its too hard to oversee a large group of kids, and there's always the few that have that innate ability to know just when to slip away undetected and cause trouble.

Insert "adults under the influence of alcohol" instead of the big bold words above and see how true it is !!
