'Boys Rank 30th In Available Cap Space

Cowboys not having to a conference championship in 30 years makes it look worse but no one talks about how the 9ers drought of a SB is worse than ours despite them having more competent front offices and having some sb caliber teams and coach’s.
They've been there at least.

But yea - when you zoom out, the Cowboys are pretty middle of the pack in terms of last Championship appearance among major sports franchises.

For all the flak that Jerry catches, the 9ers do all of the same things.

This is basically the last year of the 9ers window and they haven't done much to get better.
I would take the amount of success the 49rs have had over the last ten years to the Jones Boys

Exactly.

It happens when you hit on draft picks and have a few years to enjoy it before they all hit FA

And when you have e a competent GM
Lol.... so funny how much leeway people in here give other teams. Noners had one of the worst moves in recent history getting Trey Lance.

How did the deebo deal work? Brandon Aiyuk? If Jerry had those exact same deals, youd crucify him.

I don't really understand why people say this lol.

They go through all of the same contract drama that Dallas does. Bosa, Aiyuk, Trent Wiliiams...
And yet they have $71 million in cap space, while Dallas has only $5 million. San Francisco is also projected by most analysts to be the better team this year—again. That doesn't mean they will be, but that's the general expectation. I just think their front office manages the team much better than Jerry and company. Then again, I'd personally rank several other teams ahead of Dallas, but that's just my opinion.

Who cares if they have cap space now? That's an indictment of a front office for a team that is trying to be competitive.

The point is that they aren't actually trying to improve .

At least they can parlay it into the occasional title game and SB appearance. That's far better than a wildcard win once or twice a decade.

Read another way (the correct way) - most of what Cowboys fans complain about has little to do with playoff success.

There are only three NFL teams that have gone longer than the Cowboys in not winning or even appearing in a championship: Miami, Houston, and Cleveland.

You clearly added in other leagues to try and make it seem not so bad since your agenda is defend all things Jerry Jones.

The only metric that matters is Super Bowl wins. This is just an arbitrary benchmark that fans who like to cry use.

The only pro sports teams with a longer active conference championship/finals appearance droughts than the Cowboys (30 years):

NFL
Cleveland 36 years
Miami 33 years
*Houston is at 24 years, but they have never been to a CCG

MLB
Pittsburgh 33 years
*Cincinnati 30 years (tied with Cowboys)

NHL
None

NBA
Washington Wizards 46 years
Charlotte Hornets 37 years

The Cowboys most certainly are not middle of the pack anymore. They are among the very worst in team sports currently when it comes to championship game appearance droughts.

Stephen Jones wants his cap to look full. It is by design. As others have said they can create space if they wish.

Correct. They could also decide to do Quinnen Williams' deal today and be sitting on $25.5 million or more. That would reduce his 2026 cap hit substantially.
Right. Generally this time of year, teams aren't making such moves unless they need to make such moves. Why push money out if you don't need to? It's better to eat it unless you have to use it.
