Dang that was kinda melancholy boss. Well hope you get to see another one too

Thanks and I'm sorry for the melancholy. I sincerely have thought this and I'm thankful they have built a team then can contend for the foreseeable future. Maybe I'll get to see another one.

Don't feel bad for me though. I became a fan in 64 so I've seen nearly the entire history of play of the Boys. I've enjoyed an unsurpassed winning streak and 5 SB appearances. At one time we played in 10 of 13 CC games if I remember correctly.

35.1 million viewers watched the Cowboys-Commanders game yesterday.

The Cowboys’ win ranks as the most-watched NFL regular season game, regardless of network, in 21 years — since Chiefs/Cowboys on NBC Thanksgiving 1995 (35.2M). The previous high over that span was 34.5 million for Patriots/Giants in Week 17 of the 2007 season, in which the Patriots clinched an undefeated regular season. That game was simulcast on CBS, NBC and NFL Network.

It also ranks as the most-watched NFL regular season game ever on FOX (dates back to 1994).

As goes without saying, Thursday’s game delivered the largest NFL audience of the season. The Cowboys have played in the three most-watched games and four of the top five, the lone exception being Vikings/Lions earlier in the day on CBS (27.6M).

That is impossible. I had many people tell me in here last year that we weren't relevant any more and Jerry Jones has ruined the Dallas Cowboys.

I became a fan in 1979, the year Danny White led the Cowboys back from 21 points down to beat the Falcons in the playoffs.

Suffered all through the 80's, then came the 1990's and the 3 Super Bowl wins in 92, 93 and 95. In 1995 I too thought more Super Bowls were just around the corner. By 1997 though I realized the bottom was falling out and Jerry had no idea what he was doing.

1995 was 21 years ago. To get an idea how long ago that was, Sophie Turner, the 20 year old actress who plays Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, was born on February 21st, 1996, a year after the Cowboys/Steelers Super Bowl.

"Wow you guys are REALLY OLD!"

Barry Switzer gave way to Dave Campo, who gave way to Chan Gailey, who gave way to Bill Parcells, who gave way to Wade Phillips, who finally made way for Jason Garrett. 21 years.

At least it looks like after 21 years Jerry is finally smart enough to share the GM job with Stephen. We very well could see another Super Bowl soon.

You're off on your dates there just a tad bit. That was the 95 season so the Superbowl was actually played in January of 96. So she actually was born 3 weeks after our last Superbowl :p

I thought Gailey came after Switzer and Campo followed him. I could be wrong, it's been a bit.

I like the context the PFT post on this gives about the # of viewers of the game this Thanksgiving:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-thanksgiving-game-topped-35-million-viewers/

Only one basketball game has ever reached 35 million viewers: Michael Jordan’s last game with the Chicago Bulls in the 1998 NBA Finals, which had 35.9 million viewers.

The Dallas-Washington game had more viewers than 81 of the 82 World Series games in the last 15 years. The only exception was this year’s Game 7 between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians.

The game drew more viewers than this year’s Academy Awards (34.3 million viewers), which is typically the most-watched non-sports television event of the year in the United States.

That’s all for a regular season NFL game. For the year, NFL ratings are still down in every time slot: Sunday afternoons, Sunday nights, Thursday nights and Monday nights. But Thanksgiving served as a reminder that the NFL remains the king of American television.

With as long as we've been out of the Super Bowl, I think it wouldn't matter who we played - it would be the highest rated game in history.
