It is not aginst the rule, he is not doing it to draw the team off-sides he is trying to confuse the defense by making them think he is changing the play.

I know it is not against the rule... once upon a time "pushoff" wasnt a rule, "helmet removal" wasnt a rule etc.... that is my point

understood about trying to confuse the defense

Correct, and if it starts working watch the proclamations of how brilliant it is because our player is doing it.

Or if it starts working they will create a new rule the "Romo false start" rule

you guys ever hear some of the crap peyton says when he is making "adjustments" listen on sunday, you will here him say "OMAHA!" atleast 50 times

At least change up the cadence and the geographical reference, Peyton. Burlington, Ithica, Germantown, Yazoo, Ponder, Dollyville and Lake Okeechobee would be a little more spellbinding.

Not really.

But it still does nothing to negate the fact that it is annoying.

It reminds me of people when they use the "quotation marks" sign with their fingers when talking.

I could attack someone when I see that.

For some reason I think you would. :)

If you told me that you knew of the "tuck" rule before that Brady play, I would call you a liar.

I knew about it. I had seen it called before. As soon as I saw the replay, I knew the officials were going to reverse the call based on the tuck rule. It is a dumb rule, but it was the right call at the time.

No just one that was not inspired by a Dallas Cowboy :laugh2:

Helmet rule - Emmitt
Pushoff rule - Irvin
Horsecollar - Roy

did I miss any?

an offensive player not being able to ush off is a relatively new rule? In what parallel nfl do you watch games? Chris Carter got away with it for years before Michael and its long been a rule

I saw a number of players take their helmet off before Emmit

oh yeah and there are just a few more than 3 rules in the nfl rulebook troll

Or when someone says..I called..or I got a call...and puts their thumb and finger making like a phone. Now that is annoying and stupid. Just tell me, I'm not deaf, and don't need theatrics. :)

If I remember correctly they didnt start calling the penalty on Irvin until later in his career. Regardless of when the rule was created. Defenders cried and then they started calling the penalty.

Yes, you saw a number of players take their helments off before Emmitt. The rule was implemented right after that.

Troll? thats cute.. get informed before you call someone a troll
