I think some people need to recuse themselves from this thread.

I agree...but in the mean time let's invest in Bounty Paper towels stocks. I heard they are pretty good to use when cleaning up spills. Plus I have heard that the PG stock always holds good value.

It is not me it is people within the oil industry that are saying it is very likley BP will file for Chapter 11. Take it up with them evidently you know more than they do. It would not be the 1st time a big oil company filed Chapter 11 Texaco in 1987 was forced to file chapter 11 after paying a big fine in a court case involving Pennzoil for alot less damages than BP is looking at.

If you understood the partnerships involved w/ the big 5 oil companies of the world, you would understand that none of them will ever go bankrupt as long as oil is our number 1 energy source.

These guys are together in just about every field on the planet, be it in production or service work or refining, they are all tied together.


Comparing todays British Petroleum to Texaco of the 80's is nonsens. The BP of today is 10x larger than Texaco ever dreamed of being.


Exxon's fine in Alaska was only 150million and that is still the biggest fine ever handed down to a producer on a spill.

I just think people are just on a witch hunt becaue they hate the oil companies cuz they are THE DEBIL. :

1987, Texaco was forced to file for Chapter 11 because it could not afford to pay a jury award worth $1 billion to Pennzoil. Please you are not the only one who has worked in the industry I spent 7 years working for a directional drilling company in Houston.

I agree, some folks probably have an negative agenda towards oil companies, but the opposite is also true.
