That is an odd thing to say after three games with a 2-1 record. There is no team in the league with more than a 1 game lead on the Cowboys.

I think he's saying it to quiet people down. Doesn't it seem that no one is still giving the Cowboys any chance at all this year to even get to 8-8. Including most the the Dallas fans themselves. so it seems. So it's his way of saying, hey don't count them out, it's still early.

I also think Chris kind of likes Dallas, as he was one of the few that supported Dez a few years ago. When all the other pundits was trashing him for whatever reasons, without knowing the facts. Chris was saying, hey, give this kid a chance and some time, he will be fine.

Haha. Yeah. Kinda silly way to word it. He could have said "The Cowboys have been surprising on the defensive side of the ball considering the significant injuries and lack of talent." But to say they "still have a shot..."
