Exactly. Maybe Anae is getting pancaked by Steele every practice. We have no clue how he is progressing. I would think/hope that if he is destroying people in practice he would get snaps. But I have a feeling he is not. And I 100% agree that he is not the same level talent wise as a guy like Gregory.

And again, this isn't necessarily a bad thing or something negative about Anae. It would be pretty rare for a 5th round DL to be able to step in and make plays his rookie year. Many take time to develop. Anae very well could become a nice DE for us after he has another offseason where he can work with the S&C people, more coaching from Tomsula, etc.

- Depends upon the coaches, imo..

- Ole school dinosaurs tend to have a built in set -in- their -way mentality. According to multiple reports Anae was tearing them up in rush drills in training camp,.. including Steele.
even Armstrong wasn't get the press and raves that Anae was,..but since he is a vet, JAG or not, Armstrong is getting the reps.

- the only thing I can say I have to give some credit to DL coaches is they didn't let Crawford, his vast game experience, his hooray locker room spirit, and
his ridiculous 9 million dollar tag force them into starting him over Trysten Hill who was really coming on before his knee injury.

- Of course he's not on the same level of talent as Gregory. Who ever said he was ?
Even Dlaw is not on same level of pure natural talent and athleticism as Gregory.
But what's wrong with adding a guy who has a knack and track for being a rush specialist ? ,..as 'compared " to the same ole same ole with Dorace Armstrong
(yeh, that's right I said compare to Armstrong)...whose obvious limitations is as good as it's gonna get as a 4th rotation DE.

That older coaches are unwilling to go with a young guy is a generalization on your perception, and that generalizations rather than historical evidence with these specific coaches is not a solid basis for an argument.

If you can provide historical evidence of McCarthy, Nolan and the defensive staff refusing to play young players then you have a foundation, and even then it's shaky with a late round draft pick because they have a higher degree of failure than early round picks.

As for rush drills in training camps, how many training camp stars have we seen over the years that never made a name beyond training camp.

Also keep in mind that the media reports on selective moments from training camp that they think will interest the reader/listener, and that may not provide the whole picture.

At the end of the day, sure there is some chance the coaches are wrong, but one thing I know is you and I aren't in a position to judge that.

I don't know if he will pan out or not.
I did like in college and liked us taking him.

Sometimes we get attached to players and over hype them before they play.
Other times they are stuck behind someone and never get to play.

I think this off season hurt a great deal.
Not so much in camp but being able to play in pre season games where a good number of these younger guys get more time to show if they can shine or not.
They just did not get that chance this year.
There will be some guys that just do ok but nothing great in practice however they ball out when they get to shine in live action...gamers if you will.

That might be the case with him.

We also gotta realize that we have Aldon Smith and Tank on the sides. And chances our if they are in a position to attack the QB they want their best pass rushers in there. I don't think they would
move Bradlee inside. If anything I would think they might put him a LB spot.

Who knows.

This whole season has been a crap shoot.

All the young guys should be getting some reps. Now is the time to learn for next year.
