And here's something that I said:

Mannings bonus/salary that he signed is going to keep him from getting a ring.

The more money that they doled out to him was less than they could give to good defensive players.

My theory holds again.
The Colts defense was awesome this year.
I don't think you watched many IND games.

its the Manning Curse......His Daddy Archie could never win the Big one. Great QB but always choked.. Now add that to being in Indianapolis. A good team but when has Indiana won a major champioship. The Pacer's made it to Finals and Choked, since Bobby Knight left IU, College BB is in shambles. Archie was in New Orleans (says it all) and Peyton is Indiana. (Hoosiers are good people but not a dominate Sports Capital) I think if any of the Mannings have a chance to win a championship it will be ELI with NY.

Most of Archie Manning's career was a little before my time, although I do remember playing for NO.
I always wondered what all the fuss about the guy was. After checking his career stats he threw nearly 50 more ints than TDs. Always seemed to be part of a bad team.

No, I've watched PLENTY of their games this year. They are just a couple of players away from having it all, yet they can't afford it. Now, ask yourself why that is and you will understand what I was saying.

I think this may have been the P.Mannings last chance.....
Colts have a whole bunch of free agents this off season....19 in all .To name a few...
Vanderchoke, E.James,Reggie Wayne , Robert Mathis and Raheem Brock just to name a few...

All these players are UFA except Mathis he is restricted......
With the cash they are paying Manning , plus remember M.Harrison and the back up RB also are paid very, very well...

I'd say they are in a bit of a cap jam...

When they signed Harrison to that contract, that surprised me a bit as well. They had just given Manning a huge contract and then gave Harrison a quite hefty one as well...you could see that their focus was on offense. That may get you into the playoffs, but it can stop you in the post-season.

People think of the Rams with that offense when they were in the Superbowl, but people forget that they also had the #5 defense that year as well.

Given what they gave Manning and Harrison's age I was surprised..
Remember they gave there back up Running back very good money also

Yawn. He said they had poor blocking up front. Big whoop di doo. There was.

And Manning's contract is essentially the same as Brady's and Vick's for like the first four years.

Brady played several years cheap and already had a very good and deep team around him before his contract became a factor.

Vick will never win a damn thing in Atlanta either, because he's as well paid as Manning and not nearly as useful.

I guess New England should have thought long and hard who they would have rather played first. I am pretty sure New England would have knocked Indy off also. If they could have beat Indy, I think they would have had the confidence built up enough to go and then beat Denver..... Funny how this is all shaking down. Props to Pittsburg. I really thought they had a good shot at winning today.

The Colts window slammed shut so hard that it shattered- that team is DOA next year- Jacksonville will kick their butts up and down that division next year.

...was a heck of a QB on a very bad team. From 70 to 76 they had no more than a max of 5 wins at least three of those were 2 win seasons. He spent alot of his time running for his life and on his back.

He could throw and run, it wasn't easy being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 70's when cellar dwellers stayed at the bottom and teams like Dallas never left the top of the standings.

I guess thats why HE picked who Eli played for. For that reason alone I hope Eli has the post season success of his father and brother.:D

...if Archie's career may have played a part in the way Eli chose to go in the draft.

His father had very tough times in New Orleans.

"WoMannings" is more accurate. They all whine like little babies.

"Waaa, I want to go for it on fourth down"
"Waaa, it the OL's fault"...

It's okay to say his O-Line had protection problems, they did, but it was bad form not to have included himself in the blame for not adjusting to the increased pressure since he is the on-field offensive coordinator,,, shorter pass routes, slants, screens, draw plays, etc. HE needs to share the blame.

With all that said, the Steelers looked pretty dang good. I hope they win it all cuz I can't stand Denver or the crybaby Seahawks or the crybaby Panthers~!

Old school Cowboy fans would pull for Satan over the Steelers- the only team that we'd pull for the Steelers to beat are the Skins.

Peyton missed alot of open recievers today. The NFLs highest paid kicker and quarterback failed their team today. Big Ben came up big in cruch time. He outplayed the NFL's best quarterback in his homefield as a 2nd year player.
