RCowboyFan;3344279 said:So I guess Tom Landry and by extension Jimmy Johnson is history? The current coaches don't need to respect the legacy of Landry and Jimmy? You know how silly or maybe even dumb that sounds? Roger Staubach is one of the biggest reasons that Cowboys became to known as America's team or has such a great history. I haven't even watched Roger live although I am old enough to have been ( I immigrated here so 90s team is what I am familiar with). But even I know, without Roger and them, Cowboys are not what they are.
Wether one likes him or not, Terry Bradshaw won 4 of the 6 SBs for Steelers. If you are an NFL player have a respect for the game, I would think you would also have respect for the past and the past great players. When one doesn't have that, it says a lot about the person too.
I don't think I could disagree with this more. I've been in locker rooms where a past legend walks in and talks to you about tradition. It's powerful and it matters.locked&loaded;3344316 said:I dont know how dumb it sounds, youre just taking this too personal. Like it is sacrilege or something. That is silly.
Yes, Landry and Johnson are history. I get it you are fond of that history, all cowboys fans should be; but history is history.
Ware owes nothing to Charles. Barber owes nothing to smith. "big" ben owes nothing to Terry. Its not like these players were grandfathered in.

locked&loaded;3344271 said:yes, hes history. These new players owe nothing to the players that used to play their position. They will most likely be compared but they are different people and players.
mldardy;3344258 said:Does Bradshaw like anybody? That guy seems like one bitter man sometimes.

locked&loaded;3344395 said:Put it on a level that is easier to understand. When you played say highschool football, i assume you played, did you feel like you owed it to last years starter? You only feel this way because these players are sports heroes to you.
then why don't people love michael irvin?miamicowboy21;3344296 said:Personally I could careless about him, but the guy has 2 rings and is a winner. In the end that's all people really care about.
