I don't think any QB is concerned what number is out there. They can all have the same number. They are looking at what defense is showing in coverage, blitz possibly, who is rushing, who is dropping back.

i figured QBs keyed on jersey colors...or helmet colors.
never crossed my mind about keying on numbers.
of course....i make my living cleanin' toilets...not reading jersey numbers...so why would it cross my mind.
