Brandon Aubrey Appreciation Thread

Never bashed the kicker, he's been great thus far but we're talking about a kicker and next week he could go 0-3 in fieldgoal tries..... but kicking stats show other deficiencies of a TEAM.

i highly doubt Aubrey is becoming overconfident....but i will praise he jumps out of the gate 13 for 13.....how many of us jumped on Jerry for choosing him???

dont you want a veteran kicker who is about 80%?...maybe...but Jerry is a wild-cat-er....and he knows he does not have very many more laps left?....i hope

we do more wild-cat-ing this year and pay to get good back-ups to come in for a long season...when you think about...if you add a decent run in playoffs

its almost like 2 seasons in 1?.....the way the defense plays there will be injuries so lets pay big for good players to back up....and let the DC along with

the black dude pick who they want?...they can get quality and good bang for the buck

I am completely satisfied with Brandon Aubrey (maybe moreso than any other player on the team at this point) but scoring by kickers and red zone touchdown scoring efficiency was introduced so I was curious. Below are ranking data from teamrankings.com (link) and pro-football-reference.com (link) for NFL Team Red Zone Scoring Percentage (TD only) and NFL Kicking by Field Goals Made, respectively.

Data is for a ten-year period, 2013 through the first four games of this season (not including tonight's teams' scoring). It is not a perfect match. PFR data was sorted by field goals made, excluding extra points from total points scored by each kicker. Some kickers played on multiple teams during a season. Tables are sorted by teams' redzone scoring proficiency from best to worst:

He’s doing well but we better wait until the season is over before we anoint him. Kickers can be very streaky. Everyone was giving Brett Maher a lot of love last season, then all of a sudden he couldn’t kick a PAT to save his life near the end of the season. We almost had to go with another kicker.

Made one of these for Maher last year, then he proceeded to have the all-time playoffs choke job, so I’ll just say I’m glad the kicker situation is currently stable.

Short attention span . Maher was deadly from all over the field , hit back to back 60 yarders at the Mall of America in Minny . One called back as the Vikings called time out . Then he wasn’t deadly started missing everything .

Kicking is funny your on until your not . I hope Aubrey continues success . MM should think twice about trashing FG’s with this early season Aubrey run .
