No hand, time for pay cut for sure now.;)

I don't that is how it works.

They HAVE to pay him since he got hurt in camp even if they put him on the IR.

Sometimes they can get some money back if they work out an injury settlement or he is released and another team pays him.

I think the Giants are our biggest threat but ODB is overrated in my book.

Good players but people already saying he is a top 5 receiver is just madness.

He looked pretty unstoppable last year

Hypothetically if DAL wanted to waive Carr now that he was injured in camp:??????

They would have to put him through waivers first to see if anyone claimed him

If not claimed they would place him on IR

He would get paid weekly like normal while actually injured

When healthy he could reach an injury settlement and would be released

New team would be responsible for vet minimum or balance of his deal???

If no one signed him DAL could only re-sign him after 6 more weeks

Is that close??

It won't be a problem for him or the Cowboys. He'll be back pretty quickly.

I had a similar injury back when I was playing and never missed much of anything. They'll just put a little protection around it and it'll be fine. Really, the only issue will likely be catching the ball.

There certainly are plenty of camp bodies at CB to take the reps. White and Jones can probably use as many reps as they can get.

He ain't catching the ball anyway.

I was poking fun at all the Cowboy fans that wanted Carr to take a pay cut during the off season.

You, DM and Carr are all tougher than me. I'm dealing with a similar injury right now although I have a fracture of the 2nd metacarpal instead of the 4th and I did not have surgery. It's been just over a month now and I can't imagine carrying or catching a football, let alone trying to make a tackle. Of course it might have been different 25+ years ago when I was still playing ball and had the healing powers of youth.

I've been thinking the same thing about the youngsters getting the opportunity to be afforded some valuable experience in the preseason practices and games. There's no real need to rush Carr back until he's fully ready to take on the challenge. In the meantime, those who need the reps the most will be served some valuable experience. It's all good.
