I have been hearing alot of rumors about Brandon Marshall coming to Dallas and I want to hear what u guys have heard. ESPN has it on their insider page and yahoo sports says the talk is heating up. I know dez Bryant is coming in for a workout and I would not give up a first for Marshall. Maybe we could trade Roy and a third for Marshall.

There's no chance of Roy being traded. Zero, zip, none, nada. The sooner fans come to grips with that, the better. If he and Romo do not figure out what the chemistry issue is in 2010 he will likely be gone.

I looked around on Yahoo and ESPN. I don't see these rumors of Marshall coming here.

What do you mean by "no chance, zero, zip nada."

Are you saying there is a slight chance or a maybe?

Juke wants to know.

:signmast:

Perfectly summed up. Hopefully this fact gets out to the masses.

I just spent 10 minutes doing the same thing...................nadda

I don't see it as anything more than a rumor, and I don't see it happening for several reasons:

1. If Jones trades or cuts RW11 before this season, he is essentially admitting he made a mistake when he made the trade. Jones won't admit failure or that he made a bad decision.

2. No one will take on RW11's contract, especially after 2 lackluster seasons. The Boys paid him on potential, not reality.

3. Until he proves otherwise, RW11 is in decline. Can't/won't learn the book, QB doesn't trust him in key situations, poor routes.

What player is not paid on potential?

Just when I thought I was out. THEY BRING ME BACK IN.

I would LOVE to have him here opposite Austin. He may have some prior off the field issues but he is one of the top 3-5 receivers in the game.

I keep hearing that there is no chance RW is traded, and
i agree with that because nobody is going to pick up his contract. however what is keeping the boys from outright cutting him if they have a proven #1 coming on board. Correct me if I'm wrong but with an uncapped season that money would disappear if he's cut.

The guaranteed money he's owed. I have heard as much as 9 mil.

Cap or no, they have to pay him a lot of $$$. So he'll be a Dallas Cowboy for one last season. They'll try one last time to squeeze some blood from the turnip. Then he's history.

There's the thought that he'll improve dramatically and continue on to 2011 and beyond as a Cowboy, but if anyone looks at his career honestly, the player he was in 2009 is pretty much who he is. One more year isn't going to change that.

The Cowboys would have to eat the money but once there is a new cap his contract will not be included.

Hamlin and Flo need to get cut worse.

Had we not dealt for Roy I'm having a hard time imagining Jerry not dealing for Marshall.

Had we not dealt for Roy11, TO might still be here. Then this offseason we could cut TO and make a deal for Marshall. Our starting WR's would be Austin and Marshall. I'm sure there are plenty among our membership who wish that is what would have happened.

Mostly the fact that it does not make sound business sense to do so. His contract is guaranteed. You either pay him to produce for you, or you pay him to produce for someone else. He still contributes to the Offense and to winning here, just not putting up Owens-like numbers. He will have to do that or eventually he will be released. But doing it right now does not make any sense at all given the guaranteed contract.
