When the day started we had these picks.

22, 53, 87, 122 159, 195, 200, 212, 234, 237

As the day ended we have these picks.

26, 67, 103, 122, 178, 200, 212, 234, 237 and Cleveland's #1 pick in 2008.

So, we moved down 4 spots from 22 to 26 and got the guy we wanted at 22.

-4

We moved from 87 to 67 in the 3rd.

+20

We moved from the 5th round and 159 to top of the 4th round and 103.

+56

We moved from 195 to 178 in the 6th round.

+17.

By my math that #53 pick netted us a possible top 5 pick in 2008 and a positive movement of 89 draft places overall.

Kudos to Jerry, Stephen, Jeff, & Wade. I think this is outstanding.

It was a brilliant move that net us the 2008 #1. Love the Spencer pick. The trade back up wasn't without some pain, though. Watched some really good players disappear from #67-#99: McCauley, Wade, Jason Hill, Higgins.

Landing Soliai tomorrow would net another player likely to see immediate rotational action.

Am I crazy to look at the movement that way?

I believe your draft is made in the 4th round more than the 1st. In the 1st round you expect to get value. When you find value in the 4th, man that is a good draft.

Now I see us having an early 4th and another one, and I can't help but think. this is a good omen for us. Give me any two of these guys...Aundrae Allison, WR, East Carolina or Courtney Brown, CB, Penn State or Zak DeOssie, ILB, Brown or Jordan Palmer, QB, UTEP, and I am going to be ecstatic with this draft.

Doug Free is still there. Alan Barbre is still there. Manny Ramirez is still there. If we want more on the OL, we can get it.

I want to take a chance on the big kid, Walter Thomas at NT. After the 4th round we still have 5 picks left.

If we want to package those 5 we can move up even more.

I don't know, from where I sit, all we lost was a 53 which could turn into a top 5. Even if it's just top 10, that's still 43 places of improvement for that pick too.

It's a great day.

I agree on watching some good players go off the board. I am drooling over the throught of Darren McFadden in 2008 though and still having a 1st round pick.

Jerry pulled a 3rd round pick out of his arse today.

Great breakdown, thank you. If that 2008 #1 is high, it's even more.

That can't be right. Jerry Jones doesn't know what he's doing and Wade Phillips is just a puppet. We let too many franchise players like Dwayne Jarrett and Eric Wright get by us.

I'm not sure if I'm more excited about that or Spencer.

Go Bengals, Cincinnati, and Baltimore!

While several of those players who still available when we use our first pick in 4th round tomorrow, I think we need seriously look at Paul Soliai. He is projected to be a good NT who could provide help to Ferguson this season and eventually succeed him. Don't want to wait any later in the draft to to select another DT/NT who might not be of any help this year.

Happily we should be able to get 2 pretty good players in the 4th if we draft well and things break our way. Unfortunately we don't have enough picks nor are most of them high enough in each round. Tomorrow will be interesting but it very important that we draft well.

I got 3 words for ya.

Darren Freaking McFadden.

In my wildest dreams I wouldn't have believed we might have a shot at someone like him.
